We are fragile creatures on collision with our judgment day.
What, 150 doesn't count? Miles in a year??

150 was worth 150 but it took me a little over two days (and yes, I'd like those two hours back). 101/110 is my ATY 24 hour hope.
Yes 4500 miles in a year. A number I used to ballpark regularly but have not in a couple years due to various health things and shenanigans.

This is very funny because I just ran across this thread earlier today, where you say, and I quote, "Moving up to new distance challenges is also a motivator. I just ran my first 100. I can see getting sucked into that world. Not sure I would want to go farther, though."
hahaha!

As for 90% - I'm going backwards and not sure with what's up with that.
Ran mediocre at Pikes, but finished and that's good enough for the bucket list.

Heh. Yeah, keeping it interesting does make life more complicated. Thing is, I seem to do better the longer the race is. Part of me wonders what I could do at 6-day... but I don't want to spend 6 days to find out.
One of those I'll state publicly is this:
Make the US National 24-hour team
First shot at that is coming up at Desert Solstice 24 in December.
Bucket List:
1.) sub 4:20 mile
2.) sub 4:10 mile
3.) sub 15 5k
4.) Make the NCAA regional meet in track
5.) Run from my Bible camp to the nearest town and back (18 miles)
6.) Run the Maah Daah Hey Trail through the North Dakota Badlands (50, 100, or 150 miles depending on which you want)
7.) Win the Fargo Marathon 10k
8.) Be a better coach than my high school cross country coach was
9.) Watch the U.S. Olympic Trials in person
Prairie running is peace.
Dream Maker

2) Run a 50 mile race (2011)
3) Run a 100 mile week without a crazy long run (2011)
4) Run 100 marathons (2015)
On the list:
1) Run a sub 3:30 marathon
2) Complete a 100 mile
3) One of the races through the Redwoods in California (Humboldt or AoG)
4) VolState 500K
5) Complete a 100 mile sub 24

Not tripping over the bucket and getting hurt
These may be completely unreasonable and not very exciting but: <6:00 for the mile <20:00 for 5k More reasonable, I think: BQ I'm 41 so there is definitely an expiration date on these things.

Almost 6 years later and actually seeming these goals could be within the realm of possibilities. 1 down 2 to go. Cheater shoes and fitness got me creeping up on sub 6.
What say you, folks? What's on your bucket list?
Haha, wow. Five years later I am still trying to make the 24-hour team. I missed the cut by 300 feet in 2017 and one mile in 2019. But since this post I have acquired 6 age-group American records (from 200K to 48 hours) and have indeed moved up to 6-day races. (Obligatory: part of me wonders what I could do at a transcon, or the Sri Chinmoy 3100 ... but I don't want to spend two months to find out.)
To this goal I've added to my bucket list
1. Run an overall American record at some distance (I think 48-hour and 6-day are the only theoretical possibilities)
2. Run an age-group World record. I am optimistic about this one; I turn 55 in two weeks, and the 55-59 100-mile WR is 15:14. I ran 14:44 this Feb. I'm going to go for this as a split during Desert Solstice 24-hour this year, while knocking off as many new AG ARs as I can.

What are cheater shoes?
(my bucket list just involves my left leg/foot to fix itself)
