Need a new TV show into which I can sink the teeth of my mind (Read 723 times)

THAT was when Homeland became implausible for you? I'm still addicted despite the holes in the plot. I can only be in to one show at a time and its Homeland right now.

Not sure where you are in Homeland. When you get to the first half of Season 3, don't give up, it gets better. But do yourself a favor and don't watch the final episode. Really, just don't.

I 2nd the Hell on Wheels.  Very good show.

      Vikings

Bored to Death (Oh I do love a comedy that really makes me laugh)

      Beyond the Wormhole

      The Borgias

      Tutors

It's amazing how they were able to make a series about people helping kids with their homework.

It gets pretty tense. Especially  during the test taking scenes. Cut to kid in class suffering over a test, looking up at the clock. Cut to tutor at the bar,  totally drunk looking up at the clock. Cut to scene of father making love to his secretary and looking up at the clock. Cut to scene of mother making love to her secretary looking up at the clock. Cut to black...to be continued...

        Consistently Slow

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention AMC's Hell on Wheels.  It has some really interesting (The Swede!!), likable, flawed characters.  Beautiful backdrops, too.

          +1

the first episode of Black Sails (Prime) shows a lot of promise. it's pirate-based shenanigans full of intrigue and action; one for all those who like their timbers shivered, not stirred.

Haven't seen it, but a bunch of college guys at the gym were talking about it and are really into it.  They have a big get together for every new episode.  I'll give a couple quotes on why they like it:

"they don't mess around with talking, they just get to f***ing"

"it's porn and I like porn"

Again, I  haven't seen it, but it has the college male endorsement.

I love Taco's songs and videos. And when Kevin was on the phone withe the radio Fantasy Football experts--funny. Watching one right now with lunch, and Ruxin brought his kid into a public bathroom, and the kids grabs an ice cube from urinal "No baby Jeffrey, don't put that in your mouth. No water cookies, no water cookies. You are forever unclean!" He holds the kid above his head.

Fun. Total comedy and for laughs.

two episodes in and Fargo is living up to expectations. the characters may well be different, but it manages to retain the pace, subtleties and understated nature of the movie (there's some direct references too) . Lorne's (Thornton) laconic Machiavellian ways synch perfectly with Lester's (Freeman) bumbling downwards spiral, while Molly's (Tolman) gormlessness belies a sharp intuition.

bring forth the next instalment of farcical fun.

I watched five episodes of Dexter and thought it was boring with little to no character development.

In the coming to things late category, I just discovered John Lajoie's Youtube channel of amazingly funny songs. He plays Taco on The League. My favorite character on the show—so hard to wrap your brain around—is he serious, sardonic,  dumb, intelligent, out there, totally there?  Seems he's had this whole other career before the show. Creative man.
