FAM
Fam always seems to write and think and train at "extremes" which I find fascinating. Anyway, the above linky is a pretty long, but really interesting interview about his training over the last year, culminating in sub 4 at 5th avenue mile.
Hits on injury, athsma, thyroid, overtraining, and a lot of other stuff. Pretty personal and revealing, and as always from him, some good vocabulary.
"Pertinacious", I love it.

Just a dude.
Crazy... In March he drops out of a 15k, and barely runs again till June. Does a 12 week build up of less than 50 miles a week and runs a sub 4. And that's after struggling the prior year with injury and asthma.
wow.
just... wow...

Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape...
not bad for mile 25
I respect him for the struggles he's endured. It's so nice to not have the pressures that the elites are under. My approach is to train in the manner that seems best for my body and for my life, and see what results; rather than to adapt my life to reaching an arbitrary goal.
