What a great guy!!! He and his wife were at a wedding that I went to this weekend here in Juneau AK and someone introduced me to him because I run a children's running group here. Now my great friend from New Zealand was absolutely all over him with all sorts of questions. I invited him for a trail run this morning and he said his body has seen better running days. He is still in fine shape and looks great. And with that great NZ accent. I wished I had known more about him before I met him. I just heard about him from reading the Lore of RUnning. But he and I actually both got our PhDs from UC Davis and I would loved to have asked him better questions about exercise physiology and how it feels to set a world record
