My wife is had this problem off and on for years when running. Her legs start itching so bad that she has to stop and scratch the hell out of them. She doesn't even wear shorts in summer because the compression of running tights seem to help but even today she's texting me well on her run that she has to quit because her legs are on fire. Does anyone else have this type of issue?

This is totally a thing. I had similar issues when I first started running, but mine were in the form of eczema where sweat would collect around my eyes. I started wearing a wicking hat or Buff to help. That may be why tights help her. Zyrtec year-round has also been a godsend.

I know this is weird but does she drink a lot of dark colas? If her phosphorus levels are high it can lead to itching.
