Welcome to the 2018 Boston Marathon thread!  Feel free to ask questions about the race, discuss your training, and share anything related to the race in this thread over the next 7 months.

I noticed one change from last year.  The expo will be at the Seaport World Trade Center in 2018.

This will be my first Boston.  I just booked my flight and hotel today.  Went back and forth on how much to spend and how close to stay and settled in on Boston Park Plaza.  My wife and 10 (he'll be 11 then) year old son will be going with me and we will probably do some sight seeing around Boston Common Saturday and Sunday.

I'm a CPA so April 16th isn't ideal timing for me so I'll just be flying in on Saturday and flying home Tuesday morning.

I've used Hansons for all my marathons so I will for this one too.

Still haven't decided if I'm going to try to run it hard or just go easy and enjoy it.

I think my qualifying time should get me in Corral 2 of Wave 2.

I am sitting on a BQ - 2:21.  That's my first BQ. FINGERS CROSSED.

Julia, thanks for setting up this thread!!  I am excited to get a little more socially engaged again on Running Ahead now that I have more motivation to do so.

This will be my 7th Boston, God willing, if I can get to the starting line healthy.  My first was 2004, which now seems like an eternity ago, but it's true that you never forget your first one.

This will be my 6th Boston Marathon.  I ran 2012, skipped 2013, but have run every year since.

It probably won't be a goal race for me.  I'm thinking of running my first (and probably only) ultra in January and hoping to get into the Tokyo Marathon in February.

My qualifying time is 3:32:04 from this year's Eugene Marathon.  I'm hoping to improve my time by going sub-3:30 at the New York City Marathon in two months.  But, it's still a BQ-20, so I can register the first week.

This will be my second Boston after a really poor showing there in 2016.  I'm hoping we break the two year run of warm temperatures since my training through the Chicago winter weather doesn't prepare me for a 70 degree race.  My BQ was Chicago 2016 at 2:52:35...hoping to lower it a bit at Chicago again this year so I can get into the same corral with a bunch of my 2:4x racing teammates.

In. 14th consecutive year registering... but I was DNS the past two years. Hopefully will make it to the start line this time.

This will be my first Boston. I get to register next Friday, but since I'm sitting on -8, I should be good. I'll be in the 4th wave, since I'm old and slow, but I am still proud to have qualified.

                    not lazy, just tired

This will be my first (and maybe my only) Boston. I, too, am slow and old and will be in the fourth wave. I'm sitting on a -7:59, so will be registering next Friday along with Ginny. Also am proud to have qualified, although I keep checking my time, and checking and re-checking the qualifying times for my age group, because I have a hard time believing that I actually did qualify.

                      Not if it makes sense.

                      From the Internet.

I'M SO NERVOUS. BQ-2:19 for me.

Happy Registration Day for you fast people !

I have to wait until Wednesday to register but I was just checking on what it looks like.

I guess they don't expect bigger folks to make the qualification times, the largest T-Shirt size is XL.  Hope it will fit.

I'm sitting on BQ -3:11. Fingers crossed. Gotta wait until next Wednesday  Monday. I'm going to totes screw up this registration thing.
