I’m in to be part of the liquor store guy cult.

As my first cult confession, I just now discovered vermouth comes in more than the clear stuff. Picked up some Cocci vermouth Di Torino. Mixes really well with St George dry rye gin.

I think liquor store guy has told his followers

I once robbed a San Francisco bank for him in the 1970’s.  His indoctrination is strong.

In my ongoing discovery and disbelief in “HOW THE FUCK IS NO ONE WEARING A MASK IN THIS TOWN” series, may I add the Arizona Trail town of Pine, AZ.  The only spot to resupply easily between Flagstaff and Phoenix, one week without a shower or beer, I walked in and right out of a few places.  First place tried to jam me into a tight spot indoors at a bar where none of the staff including those doing prep were wearing masks.  I went to the post office (where the employee wasn’t wearing a mask), picked up the resupply box I sent myself, did some laundry, and left town.

I think I arrived, independently through experience, at the same conclusion as liquor store guy.

            One day at a time

Friends from Belgium (both in their 50s and very fit) have COVID-19.  They wrote,

"It is really very very very very bad.

We sleep all day, pain everywhere, lazy, the flu, no hunger, nothing, nothing nothing...

We are both healthy persons, so we can imagine that persons that already have other health problems and then have corona, it must be hell and very dangerous.

I think I got corona at work.

I worked a lot of hours, my office is in a brand new building, with airco and climate regulation, and a lot of collegues are sick at home, the doctor says that one cannot avoid covid any more, it's in the air.

Belgium is doing very very bad, it is a black coronaspot on the map."

1,992 cases with 72 deaths. The population according to the internet is 1,963 according to the 2010 census. I guess when it appears everyone has had it and everyone left has recovered there wouldn't be much need for masks since they've all recovered. You traveling there puts them at more risk because you can introduce the virus. You should wear a mask to protect them from you so you can slow the spread if you're not going to stop traveling.

Apparently it is up to each county to pick and choose if they want a mask mandate.

I hope Joe Biden takes control of this and gets us to the same level of lockdown as Germany is doing. It's going to be the only way since there is no vaccine coming any time soon and winter is when people will be indoors more often. Maybe when we get back to that March level of lockdown people will remember why society has been working from home for the past 8 months. It wasn't so we'd have time to vote or clean out our living spaces.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

Yep, it’s not looking good in Belgium and pretty much every country in Europe is into a 2nd wave....England, Germany, France are starting another national lockdown..and Spain, Italy, Greece will most likely follow. More indoor socialising now in the colder weather = more covid cases I guess.  Maybe the governments should encourage (or supply) the elderly and most vulnerable with n95 masks AND emphasis the importance of wearing them properly!

I think as long as people just stay home and limit travel as much as ACTUALLY possible COVID 19 spreading would be minimized if not prevented. Masks, distancing, maybe even back to limiting capacity of the grocery stores to the point of forming lines outside would do a lot. Maybe doing it now before it gets TOO COLD would help. I see NOTHING improving until AFTER the holidays because everyone just makes an excuse to see family instead of missing out on just one more opportunity to prevent the spread. I think the way darkwave is doing it is ideal. No eating/drinking and limited exposure with masks on. Much like when I visit family I don't live with. Somehow I've not had it, or I'm asymptomatic and this entire time have been putting others at risk by going outside for runs.

That’s exactly what I thought.  In the UK we are strongly advised to stay at home and only travel to a different town if it’s essential for work. Maybe it’s different in the US.

What is this “work” you speak of?  As I’ve already mentioned, I haven’t had a damn job for nine months, and spending five to six days a week in the woods by myself exposes myself and others to covid less than if I was here in my urban setting where getting fresh air means being close to people on sidewalks and bike and running paths.

I think you’re reducing your chances of getting a job if you are spending 5 to 6 days in the woods....especially if you’ve got no internet access.
