women bring their young sons in all the time so... i am not a big fan of babies at the gym in general though...
Intentionally Blank
This is an interesting issue for me. Where we go swimming, there is a separate women's "family" locker room where boys up to age six are allowed. I've honestly never noticed if there is a men's family locker room.
This summer, my son will be seven, although he is a tiny kid and looks about 5. While I know it is unlikely, I work in the criminal justice field, and I know that if any public places are magnets for pedophiles, they are public pools, parks, fairs, and other places where children could end up unaccompanied. Especially places like a men's YMCA locker room. I am uncomfortable sending my sweet boy into the men's locker room by himself. I also don't like to send him into men's restrooms by himself when I can help it. I'm considering keeping him with me and pretending he's six.

Thanks for this - I knew this. We've done a fair amount of re-educating our children on "stranger danger". They get taught "stranger danger" at school, and we tell them that if they ever need help, they can ask a stranger. It's okay.
I'm not worried about my child getting murdered In the locker room. I am worried about a stranger trying to cop a feel.
