Before starting a map, I usually want to set the center and zoom. Right now the only way to do this is to center, zoom, recenter, zoom some more, recenter, zoom a bit more until I get it -OR- click in the intended center, zoom to the desired zoom level and then erase the first map point I placed with my click. Could you modify the behavior of the map that it won't start mapping until I give it some signal, such as a double click or a toggle in the toolbar? That way I could center and zoom more efficiently.

would be good if you could type in a place name to get close before you did any centering
