SSL revisited, and mobile ads (Read 156 times)

eric :)

    Hi all,

Over two years ago, I switched RA to be use only HTTPS, which encrypts all of your traffic to and from RA.  I removed SSL protection from the publicly accessible parts of the site a few months later because some advertisers did not support HTTPS and affected (the meager) ad revenue.  With news of various governments spying on internet traffic, it is more important than ever to protect everyone's privacy.  Therefore, I re-enabled full site encryption.

Google is rolling out a new mobile advertisement product.  Since there were no ads on mobile devices, I am giving it a try.  Google promised that it would only show ads when it thinks the ads have the best chance of generating revenue for RA.  In other words, you should not be inundated with ads.  As more people move away from desktop browsing, this may help RA stay in the black.

      eric,

I noticed the ads this morning.  Not intrusive at all.  Stay in the black!

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.
