    Sport Jester's favorite shoes ...

    The process is the goal.

Men heap together the mistakes of their lives, and create a monster they call Destiny.

    12-week layoff

Ever hear of a shoe by Nike called the "Free" The question was how to optimize the use of the shoe.
I was waiting for that. Got enough meat for two, srl? Not sure I could wear the free with my orthotics. And has anyone ever told you you catch more flies with honey?

Yet the Free isn't a running shoe, its a training shoe, and with that they still interfere with optimum foot biomechanics

        Jazz hands!

Cha-ching. And. I've got your meat.
That's what she said! *rimshot* Also I feel like I should win something (more meat?) because I CALLED THIS LIKE FOUR PAGES AGO. The force is strong with this one. (This one being me.)

You walk up to the ladies in bars and ask them this, don't you?

walk to run transition speed determines running efficiency. If I can walk at a speed you need to run to accomplish, then I'm using less energy to accomplish the same speed

No actually a big difference, I wear out the Frees faster than for their design envelope. The stress loads to the shoe can't hold up to to optimum foot biomechanics Hence most of my running is still barefoot

Ever been in a literature class, and the teacher sucks all of the fun out of reading what should have been a good book? You're trying to suck all of the fun out of my running. I'm not going to go into all of the problems with my feet, but suffice it to say that I have found a combination of shoes and orthotics that works for me. I don't want to run barefoot. I don't want to wear the free. I don't care about how my run to walk transition speed determines my running efficiency. I just want to run. Sometimes fast. Sometimes long. And avoid having surgery on my feet.

The biological question is how to reduce the impact forces your body absorbs with each step you take. The higher the impact force, the quicker you'll need surgery.

I can guarantee if I run barefoot around here I will need surgery...to remove broken beer bottles from my feet and to treat frostbite.
