Yeah races are so fun, and a whole lot different from running on your own! Be careful, they're addicting. Smile

I enjoyed your race report!  Here in the Bay Area, we are spoiled for choices when it comes to races so find another one and keep up your momentum!

5/11/24 Grizzly Peak Marathon, Berkeley, CA

7/20/24 Tahoe Rim Trail 56 miler, NV

      9/21/24 Mountain Lakes 100, OR

Thanks for the support everyone! Runners are awesome people. Yes, One Hour Runner or some approximation of that is next.

There's nothing quite like your first race. I've been racing fro 20 years, and still experience some of those same emotions as you described. Congrats!

            Synapse- Congrats!

I love racing for the social aspects, and it gives me a goal to work towards as I work on weight loss and fitness.

Still waiting for the perfect race picture. 5K PR-33:52 , 10K PR 1:11:16, First HM 2:42:28

Yeah, I had to sign up for my next race the day after this one, without a training schedule I doubt I'd run at all over the holidays.

I got my 5k race result - 27:33! Since all I was shooting for was ~30min, I feel pretty great about this. I wasn't able to accurately measure how fast I'd be on a flat course since I run up and down a couple of small hills in my usual neighborhood run.

Great time for your first 5K, there are folks around here with numerous 5Ks under their belt who would kill to get a time like that.  Smile
