unsportsmanlike conduct in cross country (Read 532 times)

Well ... On another thread there is a RA user who keeps calling other RA users "princesses." I read this as calling those users ridiculous sheltered girls who believe there is nothing wrong with the world and are completely naive. Perhaps he needs to be called out for that as it can easily be interpreted as a misogynistic insult.

Forget I mentioned it.  Carry on.

          WTF is a harpy?

If the personality in question were a man, nobody would be snarking on his looks ("halloween mask"). And I can't think of a parallel insult to "harpy" for men, no - being loud and opinionated is usually considered a good thing in a man.

If we were talking Grace's BFF Jeffrey Fieger or Piers Morgan, I would be equally as flattering...ok, less flattering with Fieger.

+1.  I guess that I don't get out enough.  Or maybe just as well.

I don't have a lot of respect for Nancy Grace, based on the snippets of programs that I have seen her in.  I'm sure I would feel the same if it had been a man hosting those programs.  In any case, I probably wouldn't have chosen the term "harpy" to describe her.  A harpy is much more interesting than Nancy Grace, IMO.  Look it up in Wikipedia.

This doesn't help a lot with cross country ethics.

Well then, based on appearance alone I would think that a harpy would be a fast runner.

                    A small harp, duh:

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

If a line of 7 harpies prevented me from being able to pass at the finish of the race, I think that would be unsportsmanlike and the harpies should have to write essays.
