Forums >Racing>Sub-17 Thread
There's been a bunch of us now that have completed the sub-18 thread, so let's get on to chasing sub-17. I won't limit this to just 2015, seeing as the year is already half over and sub-17 is even tougher than sub-18. If you want to join in, post the following and I'll make a table:
Good luck everyone! Let's crush this so we can make a sub-16 thread

I've run sub 17 twice (16:58 in 2014 & 16:59 in 2013). Also two other times at Hollis, NH which don't count because that's an all downhill course.
I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever break 17 again. The problem is that I don't think I'll be trying another 5k until November.
We've had a thread like this before. It only took me 5 years, 2 months and 15,143 miles between when I started the thread and when I finally broke 17. I've got the t-shirt and the scars to prove it.
It was all worth it. Godspeed.

I've read through that thread! I figured since that one came to an end it was time to start a new one
What kind of training are you doing, son?

That's probably for the best for everyone involved. Good luck. I would join you but I'm still in therapy from the last one.
Add me to the list.
Ran 17:30 two years ago, took a year off and gained 10lbs, got slow, and just ran 18:53 this past weekend off a 7 week stretch of 40+ miles per week. Never ran Sub-17, but it's been a lifetime goal. Thinking I need to average 60mpw to get there...
Feeling the growl again
I'll play.
With a 15:18 PR (9 years ago) and having time trialed 16:40 as recently as January, this would seem an easy goal. But I ran that at 153 or lighter with several months of good training and I am now 163 or more with no good running since.
