weight lifting & cardio (Read 2097 times)

I normally do my weight training on recovery run days: Mondays & Fridays. Ideally i would od 2 workouts, but don't usually have the time. As the run is recovery pace/intensity, it doesn't really matter in which order I do them, I've found. So far this has been working for me. I think a lot of body builders would cringe at the thought of doing any intense cardio close to a weights workout. My understanding is this is because intense cardio is catabolic, when the purpose of weights training should be anabolic. I know that we are not most of us bodybuilders, but the purpose of our weights sessions is still to build muscle, strength & power.
Next goal: Great Wall Marathon
