Averaged 4.5 hours of sleep those 5 nights. So hopefully will knock off a big chunk of time for the Mankato Marathon.
Congrats dp! A couple of amazing achievements. Running a TT 5 days after the birth is incredible.

To run a 2:48 time trial is impressive. And to negative split also shows you paced really well.

DPS - incredible time trial with a negative split.
2h48, I saw your weekly average, you put in a lot of miles!
Me - crisis might have been averted by taking 2 anti inflammatory pills yesterday plus passing an anti inflammatory cream under the foot. Hopefully that was all and I can go back to my meager comeback weeks.
PRs: 1500 4:54.1 2019 - 5K 17:53 2023 - 10K 37:55 2023 - HM 1:21:59 2021
Up next: some 800m race (or time trials) / Also place in the top 20% in a trail race

DPS - Congrats on the adorable little girl and killer TT. Mama still doing well?
Flavio - Glad to hear that just a few drugs seems to have taking care of the issue for you - here's to the comeback!
My search for a good marathon to run by mid-September isn't going so well for the obvious reasons (cancellations or threats thereof, weather), so I'm kinda shifting my search to the late October/early November time frame (partially after seeing how many small races I have lined up prior to that). Should be better for weather, virus shutdown situations should be more clarified, even though the closest race that seems acceptable is 300 miles away.
My legs seem resistant to the idea of two workouts per week right now, but in the interest of actually trying to build back a little speed that is sorely lacking right now I figure I'll try keeping those workouts relatively light for a good while.

DPS - congrats across the board. You better be making this up to your wife big time for allowing you run a marathon TT just a few days after.
I agree with others btw - It's clear you have sub 2:40 in you, with potential for sub 2:35

2:40:00 goal for mankato 2:37:01 or faster next year at Grandma's in June. It will be on my 37th birthday so moose mug is the goal. I think I can...it is just making sure I can get the miles and work in.
She let me cause a) started at 4:30 am and ended up done before any of them work up for the day...b)it was my birthday and father's day....c) I did the 3 am feeding so she go to sleep from 11 PM to 7:40 straight through.
I feel good about it considering it was on little sleep and I backed off training (workout wise not miles) which helped get finally a post college 18 months of basically healthy running.
Looks like we will have some fall races which is awesome!

DPS - I wouldn't count on fall races this year given the trajectory of the US. Yes, it seems to be in the south and west right now, but clearly we are not going to control this until a vaccine comes. Again, congrats Kiwis.
We had a near miss last week. A couple of people in quarantine were let out early to see a dieing relative. And they then turned a positive COVID-19 test. Luckily they then self isolated, and there was no community transmission.
Fortunately the marathon and other races I'm planning are keeping small fields and are in small far north towns. The half I ran last year...the hilly one) has a feild of under 75 and starts with 2 cones in a parking lot. A few others are very low key so I am hopeful. The Twin Cities Marathon just got canceled for oct 4 in my home town. But that is an event with 50k+ people raving at various races. Those sort of ones will definitely not happen. But Fargo marathon just announced they are 100% running in sept. It'll look very different but they are coming back. I think it really will be a small city by small city deal.

As of last night, a mile race I'm entered in is on for July 25 (police approved it yesterday). It's being run in 50 person heats.
A small local race is happening tomorrow - limited to 50 people.
Jmac - not every race is a NYRR/BAA extravaganza.
DPS - belated congratulations!
Everyone's gotta running blog; I'm the only one with a POOL-RUNNING blog.
And...if you want a running Instagram where all the pictures are of cats, I've got you covered.

Dps - Congratulations twice. I’m really impressed by anyone who can do so well on long time trials. For me it’s much more difficult to run steadily hard alone than with someone, which is why I don’t like small races or the covid-era races that start in waves.
Kimba - Welcome back! Glad you’re running again.
Me - Another good week, all easy but with strides twice. Believe I set another new weekly high by a tenth of a mile, though it’s hard to be sure since I’m not running measured routes and don’t have a smartwatch. The Sahara dust storm has made it a little more hazy than usual today, but I didn’t notice any air quality difference during my run. On Tuesday, I photobombed (videobombed?) our newspaper's video of a youth orchestra that was practicing socially distantly in the park. I think this link will show the video, with me trotting by at the 1-minute mark. I do not look like a serious runner, but keep in mind that it was a recovery run and I was going especially slowly to make sure I didn’t step in a rut or trip over a root.

James great photobomb you look fine. I've put in some 10 min miles this week
Darkwave nice that you finally have a race.
My legs were trashed Monday and Tuesday after a weekend of tempo and fast long runs. They came right eventually and I did my first vo2max session Saturday for some time. I decided on 4 x 1000m with 400m recovery to avoid injury and total exhaustion . I had a decent tailwind too so they came out a bit quick.
Good group run today supposed to be 4.45/km but as usual ended up quicker.

Piwi - nice week, you are really cranking the mileage up!
James - still a mileage high I reckon! And well done on the photobomb.
Watson - it might sound harsh, but I don't see why those people were allowed compassionate leave from quarantine. There were plenty of families that had to deal with relatives dying in Levels 3 and 4 where they couldn't see them or have a funeral. I don't see how the principle should be different when dealing with people who have come in from overseas that could (and in this case did) still pose a risk.
DPS - once again, well done on the awesome TT. Hope the family is settling into some sort of rhythm with the newborn in the house!
Me - slightly lighter week but it was pretty good. Thursday's MP workout went mostly well, I'd been battling a mild cold some of the week but the MP effort felt fine until I got stitch from shallow breathing around the 10km mark. I focused on breathing deeply and it seemed to sort itself out OK. Averaged 3:45/km so bang on MP which was good, although I'll have hills to deal with in the race. So I ran up a really steep one 5x as part of my long run on Sunday.

Mark, Piwi and James - nice weeks.
Darkwave - glad you're racing.
Mark - what really surprised me is that they were let out without the test results. They've stopped early release now. As you mentioned, during level 3 and 4, all of us would have had that happen to us.
My week below. For June I'm at 199.1km, the aim was 200km, so I'll comfortably hit that. I think I'll aim for 250km for July.
