Good luck flavio. I agree with the others, save a few seconds in the first km. If you try to put too much in the bank early on, you'll lose it and more in interest towards the end.

Good luck to me too!
It is very wet here with thick drizzle. Hopefully it dries up a little in the next hour.

Race went pretty well. It was about 0.2km longer this year, so 7.6km.
I ran 30:13 (3:59/km pace). Conditions were pretty wind and moderately wet.
Nice job Watson. Looks like you are getting faster.
Watson, that’s a great pace for a cross country. Nice one. How was the placing?
On my run today I felt like I was working too hard even at easy pace. Holding HMP was so easy on Wednesday but felt exactly like the time trial today. I wish I knew what caused bad days and how to avoid them. But I guess all I can hope for is that I got it out of the way today.

Good job Watson, good luck Flavio!
Was a little disappointed with my HMP intervals on Sunday, but it was the first time I had tried that sort of workout and wasn’t too bad. Had wanted to do 2x3 miles @ 6:45 with 3-4 minutes rest, but stopped a mile early after my pace slowed. Wound up doing 6:36-6:40-6:41-(3:43 rest)-6:41-6:53. My last lap was actually back on pace, but I would’ve had to push too hard to hold it for another mile. I assume I would’ve held on longer if I had managed to run the early miles at 6:45 rather than slightly faster. Will try again in two weeks.
Received this week a vibrating foam roller I won in a contest, which for some reason is much more fun that just buying something myself. I didn't want one all that much, but first prize was the expensive Normatec compression/recovery leg boots or whatever they're called, and those seemed like they'd be worth trying for. The contest was connected to a virtual exhibit in which a photographer asked the subjects of photos he had taken after the 2016 U.S. Olympic T&F trials to tell him this year what the photos meant to them looking back four years later. Lots of athletes responded, and it was an interesting mix of delighted-to-make-my-first-Olympic-team and relieved-to-make-the-team-again and just-thrilled-to-be-there and I-blew-it and realized-that-this-was-the-end-of-my-career. The pictures and comments are at 4yearsago.com, though the site seems to be down right now. Those of you who follow U.S. T&F might enjoy it.

James congratulations on receiving your first vibrating foam roller
Watson congrats once again it's great to see you back to form
My week good although I dont have a plan or focus right now
Piwi - nice week.
Steve - it was a road race. I would be over the moon with sub 4 pace on a cross country!
James - nice week. Sometimes a workout that you haven't done for a while, ends up harder than expected.
Watson - nice race and sorry for missing the good luck (obviously got distracted with all the lockdown announcement excitement on Friday).
Piwi - you pipped me haha! Nice week.
James - I've heard of massage guns but never a vibrating foam roller! Let me know how it works out.
Me - the hay is well and truly in the barn, as JMac would say. This morning's 35km included 20km at MP, which ended up slightly ahead of MP (3:43/km vs. 3:45/km) despite throwing in some hills to simulate the race course, and a nasty headwind in places coming back. I could've done one or two more km at MP as well and felt fresher at the end of a 35km long run than I ever have before (I briefly considered gunning for 42.2km as even easy pace probably would've got me to a PB). Probably the Vaporflies helped with that, but right now it feels like the only thing standing between me and my goal is next Monday's lockdown level announcement (FINGERS CROSSED!!). Oh, and being able to sustain that pace for 42.2km rather than 20-21km haha.
I have seen the vibrating foam roller. Seth de Moor uses it (running YouTube guy).
Mark - great long run. You could have jogged to 42.2km and PR'd!
I did think about it. With 1km to go, I bumped into a couple of friends who were just starting their run and could've tagged on for a bit of a tow for the last 7km too! But, I didn't want to risk overdoing it.
I think your coach would have gone nuts if you'd did that.
I think you're right!
