No, and I also haven’t forgotten that he never showed to the Parkrun showdown that would have settled it!

It's settled. If I ever visit New Zealand I'll make sure to steal one of Mark's Strava crowns. Then purchase a bucket of popcorn on the way home

Now that Mikkey mentioned, it seems really odd that Jmac's strava activities don't show heart rate data. What is he hiding from us?

This might be worth a post on LetsRun...

Keen - wow, it's funny how small towns only make the news when something like that happens. The small town I grew up in only made the news once back in the late 1980's because we had a windstorm with winds over 200km/h 120miles per hour in murican.

                      Same course as last year.

I was 40:01 I think, forgot to stop watch.  Started a little too fast, and paid for it second half.

I had 9.88km on my watch, and started thinking about a short course.  But lots had 10.1km on their watches, so I think the course was legit 10km.

                      PRs: 5km 18:43 (Dec 2015), 10km 39:59 (Sep 2020), half 1:26:16 (Sep 2016), full 3:09:28 (Jun 2015)

Quick Strava check confirms almost every other watch was over 10km.

Quick race.  All the race cancellations recently meant every good runner in the region was there.

Winner (Hamish Carson) was 29:5x, as I finished my third lap he was finishing.

Bryan from my club ran 32:05 which most years would be top 5, but he was about 15th.

                        I was 81st out of 85, I think.

                            Nice work Watson.

It does look on Strava like the course might have been a touch short though.  There's a suspiciously high number of 9.9's in there.  It always seems to throw up faster times than the other regional road champs courses.

My GPS is old and cheap, so it's not particularly accurate.  If you took its accuracy too seriously, you'd say I'd just ran 9.88km of which most was through thick native bush.
