Still not seeing the difference if you could just run there anyway. I’ll probably take the route that doesn’t involve going straight past the police station though 😂

Because people will drive to popular areas.  Some will "coincidentally" bump into friends (not saying you would).

Thanks for that, but we are not talking about the same thing. I don’t know anyone who leaves home at 6am to socialise with their friends at the running track in the dark.

Ironically if I ran to the track, considering I am an earlier starter than most, there would be more chance of encountering another person because it would take me longer than driving there.

Corey - when they find the first one usually there are about 10-15 already infected. Is your job something that can be done from home?

Mark - they're starting to encroach you guys hehehe. It's great that you can keep running, it's so necessary for keeping sanity at times like these.

me - quite a workout earlier today. I'm going less and less to the supermarket so each time it's more and more groceries. I was hauling roughly 10kg (22lbs) on each side today I reckon.

Maybe it's because we're not Kiwis but I know ~20 people who religiously show up at 4:30AM or 5AM for my clubs weekly 20km run. They definitely drive to the trailhead which would be essentially inaccessible for all but 2 of them if we had to run to all our runs. A few of them do plan on meeting up at the track (usually at 5AM) on other days even when running different workouts/paces.

I do mostly out and back runs (when from home).  So will I be arrested if I'm 10km or more from home?  I probably will because I may make Stalin references.  I think I can outrun most cops...maybe not their dogs though.  I'm heading out soon, it will be an interesting experience.

It was fine when I was out.  A few people out walking, all said hello.  Surprising amount of traffic on Upper Harbour Motorway.

I'm so tempted to run past the airbase at Whenuapai on my long run on Sunday.  Probably won't yell out anything about oppressive dictatorial regimes though.

Piwi - yeah I heard about that, cheers.  We are lucky that my in-laws live 2km up the road (they are part of our 'bubble' for better or worse) and the pool (that used to be used for the swimming school) is still up and running.  She can go up for a swim most days which will keep her out of trouble.

I can run on mostly country roads around here so I expect it to be quiet.  Yesterday on the afternoon walk I saw way more people out than usual.  I guess when exercise is all you can do, that is what you do.

I'm heading out soon after our morning Skype stand up.  A thick fog has just rolled in, adding to the eerie feel, it's kind of cool.

It's funny but my diary has ended up busier than many days in the office - I'm basically in back-to-back VC's for most of the day.

Piwi - don't forget if business is down for you, you should be able to get the wage subsidy the government has made available: https://www.employment.govt.nz/leave-and-holidays/other-types-of-leave/coronavirus-workplace/wage-subsidy/  .  I have clients and friends that have applied for it and it has come through really quickly.

                            Running Problem

                            Problem Child

                              https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2020/03/25/coronavirus-seven-troughs-reno-distillery-alcohol-make-hand-sanitizer/2904799001/

Since the Governor hasn't taken control of ALL the businesses (he just ordered the casinos to stop operating until he says so) they are moving foward.

Distilleries such as Seven Troughs, Ferino, Verdi Local Distillery, The Depot and Damon Industries are all ramping up production of sanitizer.

The primary ingredient in sanitizer is ethanol, which kills germs, including the coronavirus. Distillers can combine alcohol with aloe vera to make hand sanitizer.

                              (blah blah blah)

Many of the local distilleries have had to lay off employees, due to the statewide shutdown of all non-essential businesses.

But they are trying to retain or bring back some employees for sanitizer production.

One problem, so far, has been obtaining materials needed to make and distribute sanitizer, such as plastic and glass bottles.

                              more blah blah blah

Brandon Wright at The Depot said he will make 2.2-ounce bottles of sanitizer available to the public for a suggested donation ($3) from 4-7 p.m. Friday at its location on 4th Street in Reno. There will be a window set up for people to avoid close contact.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.
