Piwi - version 5 is $154 on the Adidas NZ site.  You will have to wait until end of lockdown of course.  You need to do this for getting from overseas too.

Watson yes I think that's the better option. No hidden gst or worries about freight.

Flavio I watched a YouTube guy Nick Bare run 5.18 mile but hes built like Zeus 190lb of muscle, reminded me of you

Just got home from 5x1000s workout with 400m jog rest. I failed this last week and only managed 3 but they were way too fast. An incomplete workout is always a big fail though.

Today I slowed them down and got it done. Was worried after the first one which was 3.50 but then got progressively faster.

Every time I looped past my house one of our cats started following me as it's their breakfast time

No, you don’t have to wait. Any international parcel coming into the domestic courier network will get delivered. As long as you’re confident the retailer can get it to NZ you’ll be sweet. There’s still pretty good air freight links to Australia so they should be fine. US and further afield might take a little longer. If it’s an NZ-based shopfront like the Adidas one they will generally have sorted GST etc too (Nike do)

Flavio - First off, the tool works great - thanks so much. Do you take donations??
Right now the biggest possible improvements I can think of would be having it put in which units distances are in for context, rather than just the raw number. For instance Mark posted his distances in metric (97.6) vs mine in imperial (82.2) and it doesn't differentiate, elevation is the same.
          Perhaps persistent login.

Would there be a way to set the name of each activity as the hotlink to Strava, and perhaps remove the "hours" place from the avg pace column? Just a couple things that would clean it up a tad, but certainly aren't necessary at all. Just having the tool at all is awesome.

Piwi - Saw that workout on strava, good job.

Adidas and Nike NZ sites are not taking orders right now.

Running Warehouse Australia might send your order now.  But you shouldn't order now as it is not an essential item.

Watson I can wait. The Adidas nz site says sold out unfortunately.

There's some cheap Skechers on RW australia.

They all have 4mm drop which scares me as I tried 4mm drop Kinvaras once and they really pulled under my arches.

Shame cos the Skechers shoes are getting good reviews.

What's also frustrating we have loads of Skechers retail shops here but they don't stock the decent running shoes.

If Elite Fitness is allowed to ship treadmills for rehabilitation, physical and mental health needs, then running shoes are fine too (as long as someone is open to sell them).

Aside from that, you'd actually be doing the courier networks a favour, as they are struggling to get enough volume through their network to cover the costs of running that particular "essential service".

I would argue running shoes are essential for those of us who stay sane via running in normal times, let alone now.  What is essential changes every day it seems, and after some of the truth bending yesterday about it always being the case that butchers and bakers can fulfill online orders, I have little faith.

Piwi - sorry, I missed the sold out sign.

The essential item list has changed a bit.  The Warehouse is selling shoes, but Rebel is not (but is selling some clothes), so it is a little vague.

Elite Fitness NZ are not delivering, according to their site.

Yeah I'd certainly agree.  It's been pretty arbitrary and I believe it was only due to some lobbying behind the scenes from former finance Ministers English and Joyce that common sense prevailed around expanding essential services to include online sales of technology that enables working/learning from home, as well as winter clothing.

Watson, Nike's online store is still open and taking orders (but flagging potential delivery delays), and there are several local retailers who have been approved for online sales of winter running clothing and footwear (including Frontrunner Colombo), so I'm not sure where you're getting your facts from.  I believe retailers have to apply to MBIE for dispensation to supply 'essential' products so that is probably why not all retailers are active yet.

Piwi - I am not sure I would go 4mm drop.  I find the NB Zante Pursuit 6mm is marginal.  I once went 0mm with Inov-8, and I would not do that again.  Drop is personal.

Lots of new racing shoes coming out now, Adizero Pro, Sketchers Speed Elite, Asics MetaRider etc., just in time to compete against Nike.... except no races.  Possibly some good sales for these shoes soon?

Watson yes I agree on drop. I have very tight hammies, calves, and Achilles and I know from 10 years running that 6mm up suits me.

There are some nice cheaper options to Nike Vaporflys etc

although they rule the marathon distance. The Sketchers Horizon Vanish is under $100 US. Well reviewed but still at 4mm drop.
