Hi George!  I'm glad everyone found us.

This appears to be more or less a BF refuge. But hi, I think I will be here more often than RWOL as the women's forum is a mess as well.

Hi. The BF is lost. I think a new womens group is starting over here.

          Hi guys! Cool

          Running is my mental-Ctrl-Alt-Del.

Tentatively jumping in.  I still love my sub-2 half folks, but the spam is pretty nuts.

I was a BF newbie, but the layout of this forum is so much nicer, so I hope no one minds if I tag along over here...

Hi folks. Is this the right place?

How do you add a picture to a post?

We also have a user group:  http://www.runningahead.com/groups/BF_and_Beyond/

I don't think you can directly upload a picture here to the forums - my guess is because of bandwidth considerations.  However, you can sign up for free at Photobucket or another photo sharing site and put a picture here that way.

                  A Beautiful Morning for a Run ...

I inserted that picture by using the HTML code for my Flickr account and copying and pasting the code into the HTML box in the tool bar.

I did not allow uploading of pictures directly to RA for various reasons.  When I created the forums, RA was under a tight budget.  I didn't have the money to pay for additional bandwidth.  Then there is the legal stuff.  Who owns the uploaded pictures?  RA or the person that uploaded it?  I wasn't sure of the legal implications.  What if the pictures were of something illegal (e.g. child porn)?

Since RA's primary focus is on the training log, I didn't want to turn it into another gloried photo hosting website.  If having such a feature allows you to to more readily create new posts, then I'll add it to my list of enhancements.  I don't think I can get it done soon though because I'm making a push to complete the first installment of the new log by year's end.

I think it'd be nice to be able to upload photos directly here, because I don't have an online photo repository that's available without creating a user account on G+, but it's not an essential feature for me

                    PS, nice photo Jen  Smile

                      Wheewff spam free?

                        Thank you!  Smile

That is entirely understandable reasoning - photos can be a huge bandwidth drain for sure & it would likely slow down the load times of the site generally.  I don't post pictures too often, so not too big of a deal for me to upload to Photobucket or Flickr when I do a race report or something.  Smile

                        Team TJ

Looks like I will be resurrecting my photobucket account for next weekend's bridge run RR.

Running for TJ because he can't.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

Oh!  It's all of you!  I had this terrible dream!  You were in it, LRB.  And you, too, Flippy.  And you, Demaris.  I would go to our usual place but it had morphed into something unrecognizable.  There was a terrible Spam Monster and he would multiply and multiply and the helpful, funny posts were disappearing.

But then a good witch appeared and told me that to get back to a happy place, all I had to do was click on the link to Running Ahead.
