I'd love to be there today piwi - although a wicket would be good...
Good luck Mark! Although since it's a matter of rolling down the hill for a PR, you don't really need it....

Thanks all. Ironically the easiest way to end the discussion about PR's would be to not attempt to run one on Saturday. Not really my style though!

Between DWave and JMac this thread is on fire today!
Steve - fix your signature, re your next race.
Mark - good luck.
Sunday morning forecast is looking good for me. Given my mediocre last two months training, I really don't know what I could run.
PRs: 5km 18:43 (Dec 2015), 10km 39:59 (Sep 2020), half 1:26:16 (Sep 2016), full 3:09:28 (Jun 2015)
40+ PRs: 5km 19:31 (Oct 2020), 10km 39:59 (Sep 2020), half 1:29:39 (Jun 2018), full 3:13:55 (Sep 2022)
2023 PRs (hope to beat in 2024): 5km 20:34, 10km 41:37, half 1:32:32, full 3:21:05
2024 PRs: 5km 20:25
JMac - Nice one. I'm hoping Mark breaks 1:10 just to see your head explode!
watson - Thanks, had forgotten about racing, it's been so long. You'll see from my update I'm choosing minimal or no travel for 2020 (no downhill races though...). Hopefully giving myself the best chance to actually belong to this group.
Watson - good luck. Go out there and have fun!
Steve - as Chief Weather Complainer and Overlord Antagonist you are undeniably a member of this group!!
Good luck to all those racing this weekend!

Good luck to the racers, rollers, and everyone else this weekend.
No turkey trot for me this year (gobble gobble mfers) because of CIM, just way too close to race.
I was going to say I'm thankful for this community we've built here, but I've noticed a few of my constituents here are making comments about my leadership. Your leader is currently benevolent, but that can change quickly. Remember, I'm not running for re-election in 2020 and can go out in style
IMPEACH!
I see on Strava Mark has smashed it with 1:10.47. Amazing time regardless of the course.
If you want to claim a 1:10:XX after you run that this weekend, go ahead.
This is why I am your leader! Maybe I should run for another year with these prognostic abilities...
Anyway, well done Mark! I'm actually really looking forward to the race report. Should be a great read (with the usual mention of all the New Zealand running buddies I've missed out on)
Nice race for Mark.
Just found out that my race is a 9:00pm start tomorrow (I thought it was 8:00am). So heat might be an issue. I also injured my foot during the week, so sub 1:30 will take luck.
