Funny signs you have seen during a race (Read 538 times)

I love the tag line too

"I bought myself a reflective running jacket.

It sits in the corner reading works by Descartes and Proust."

Can my reflective vest borrow the some Descartes?

My husband and I decided to host a "demotivation" station at a recent race where 99% of the entrants were Marathon Maniacs (and who have seen most of the signs on this thread lots of times).  Here's a sampling of our signs:

"So THAT'S what sloth looks like."

"Just a long, painful struggle to the end."

"You're running 26 miles?  Aw, how cute."

"Hmmm... not sure if you need a hospital or a mortuary."

"You're not going to win, so what's the point?"

"The winners are finished and are enjoying their second beer."

      "Free beer if you quit."

Most people thought they were hilarious, but one cranky-pants got really pissed and kicked over a couple of the signs.  Perhaps she didn't like our "aid" station with prune juice, kimchi, pickled jalapenos, sardines and cat food Big grin

--- This makes me want to relive my teen years and sneak out into the neighborhood at 3am with a stepladder and a package of 2 inch white letters......

.(Could do "Collaborate and Listen", but I guess there isn't enough room on the sign for that.)

PS. Above poster... Cat food at an aid station?!  Lol.

And the PEDs overcompensated for the missing one.

If the School of the Art Institute of Chicago ever sponsors a road race, THIS is what their bibs should look like!

There are a bunch of great ones here, on Dean Schuster's blog zerotoboston:

There is a 2 mile hill on the St Louis half marathon/marathon course - half way up there was a sign that said "if this was easy it would be called your Mom". Made me laugh.

Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.

Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.

                        I fly.

I've posted this before so sorry to those that have seen it in previous version of this thread .... taken by my wife at Mile 25 of 2011 Cal Int Marathon:

At the Atlantic City Half Marathon (or April Fool's Half, same course I don't remember which one) there was a guy dressed as the Grim Reaper holding a sign like this at the 13 mile mark.  I started laughing, which doesn't help you PR.  The costume was pretty hilarious though...

                          Bring it on.
