100 miles per month for the last 36 months in a row! (Read 531 times)

SubDood

72 months and counting. A few “barely made it” months, usually in  October. I can’t do the extended daily streaks, but 100 mi/mo is something I’d like to keep going for as long as possible.

    Are we there, yet?

Assuming I can run 6.8 miles in the last two days of November, my current streak will be 12. I checked my log to find my longest streak of 100 mile months. It was 108 from October 1988 to July 1997 and totaled 16,982 miles, 157 per month average.

       2024 Races:

            03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles

            05/11 - D3 50K
            05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour

            06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.

My streak is now 16.  I've not been running many years and I have only 18 months over 100 miles in total, including the current streak, so I hope I can keep this up for a while yet.

I remember when this thread first appeared, I had 2 whole consecutive months over 100. Now I have my own 36 month streak. Thanks for the motivation.

This is my goal too.  Current streak is 93.  Have had a few barely made it months too... running at 10 pm on the last day of the month... this month could be one of those...

              hey great job Asics ! & everyone else too!     I think I'm at 100 mths?   July 2009-July 2017 (8x12=96) August 2017-November 2017 =4

96+4 =100.    was that calculated correctly ??    trying to wrap my brain around this.

I think a snowy winter could break my streak, as I'd likely opt for cross country skiing over running.  At least I'd still be exercising outdoors.

I guess for that streak I'm at 30 months.  I didn't hit 100 miles in June 2015 when I had emergency eye surgery and missed about 3 weeks of running.

Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth

I've had several tough close calls because of different reasons but somehow have managed to get it done.  I know someday streak will end & not looking forward to that but in the meantime will do my best.  so far this month has been abit difficult on some days because of work & home schedules but will find a way.

                      July 2009-June 2017 would be 8 years (96 months), so you're at 101 Smile

My longest streak is probably only a few months. Hoping to start again this month and make it at least through the end of 2018.

December not in the books yet, so think I'm sitting at 100 now (??)   I'm right at about 100 mile pace for December, just need to get some longer miles in on days off.  at least 8-10 tomorrow.

Fredford66:  I'm definitely at an advantage living in western wa.   with the much more mild weather.  has been abit cold in mornings last week (for us).  today warmer as it was 30 when I left.

oh yeah July was the  start so I can count July 2017.  that would make it 101  yay!

100 miles is a round figure, but a relatively arbitrary distance.  If we were using the metric system, would we be counting months at 160km (roughly 100 miles), or rounding off to 150km or going for 200km?  Just an idle question.

My bet is 150 km (the metric month) but 200 km would be way more impressive.

5 miles in the snow today to reach  100 for December.   anyone else ??
