fool at foot locker (Read 792 times)

Cause I CAN

I was out today and went into foot locker to see if they had Mizunos which is shoe I've been using for 3 years, love them....she tells me they don't and brings out an asics, I thought what the **** I'll at least try;em on. I ran around in them and it felt very weird, bad weird...so I gave'em back and thanked her. She said but they're on sale for $30 and she said this like a bunch of times and said oh it wont matter, they're just shoes. They just feel weird to you because they're new.....I left....without the shoes and wont be back

    Menace to Sobriety

I'm surprised she didn't bring out a pair of the latest Air Jordans or Sketchers. SmileChain stores have their place I guess, but only if you know exactly what you need.

Janie, today I quit my job. And then I told my boss to go f*** himself, and then I blackmailed him for almost sixty thousand dollars. Pass the asparagus.

I stay away from Footlocker, Dicks, Sports Authority when I want expert help with running shoes.

Don't know where you are, but I'm guessing it's Georgia. There are many running specialty stores in the Atlanta area, such as Big Peach Running Co (my personal fave), Phidippides (sp?), Fleet Feet, and more that are trained to help runners find the proper shoes. I would try them more than a big box, mall, or outlet place until you know what you like.

          Cause I CAN

I knew exactly what I wanted and model, had been using this model for years and love it...thought I'd get lucky and find it local without going all the way to Atlanta....as I don't live close to it.

To them they must be all the same. What's the difference between sneakers really. Wink

                One day at a time

I'm glad it worked out, Peach! That's funny - I love Asics, and Mizunos feel very weird to me. That's strange she wouldn't let it drop.

I don't know but I wont be back there for any reason....I hate when any sales person does that. Whats worse is some other newbie might go in there who doesnt know any better and will just buy whatever and end up causing them problems to where they wont want to run anymore.

The guys at these stores dont know anything (except what they learn from us).... You have to know what you want and go find it... Buy a cheap low class running shoe because its on sale........Yeah RIGHT,,,, Angry

You're right about the possibility of a newbie getting hurt, Peach. When I started running I got my first pair of shoes from Foot Locker - "get these, they're the best" I'm told by the salesman. Six months, a nasty case of plantar fasciitis and a metatarsal stress fracture later, I started getting shoes at our local running specialty store and have never looked back. Arla

                        Cause I CAN

Yeah when I started I bought Nike's, thought Nike's are for running....had bad shin splints that no matter what I did, they wouldn't go away. When I went to a running store and found these...bought them, ran in them and the shin splints were gone...haven't had them since.
