Forums >General Running>What do your 70 mpw look like?
Doesn't matter, marathon training or base training. All singles or do you add some doubles?

I double once a week to preserve a rest day.
I usually double a few days a week with 2 mile easy runs in the morning.

I can hardly remember anymore. But mostly singles.
Runners run
Break on through
Mostly singles. Around 75 mpw or higher, I try to add in one or two doubles.
"Not to touch the Earth, not to see the Sun, nothing left to do but run, run, run..."
I don't run 70 mile weeks often. But when I do, I run doubles.
I highly value my rest day.
Last few marathon training cycles I've been using the Pfitz 70mpw plans. Two (consecutive) 70-mile weeks I have coming up look like this:
Mon - Rest
Tue - 6 AM / 4 PM
Wed - 11 w/5x1200m @ 5k pace
Thu - 15
Fri - 10
Sat - 6
Sun - 18 w/12 @ MP
Mon - RestTue - 9 w/10x100m stridesWed - 15Thu - 7Fri - 12 w/7 @ tempoSat - 6Sun - 21
They will be a lot of fun.

not bad for mile 25
70 is rare for me, and to make it happen, I need a double somewhere in there.
It's Tuesday every day
I prefer it to be singles. Easiest to handle if I do a fairly long run on Sunday - takes the pressure off the rest of the week.

Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Dopplebock's 70 mpd looks like this:
Monday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Tuesday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Wednesday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Thursday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Friday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Saturday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Sunday: 70 miles on the treadmill
Oh wait - this thread is about miles per WEEK?!?!
That was funny, jimmyb. Now what about doing s'more on some mornings or evenings before/after the main run of the day.
This thread is interesting, especially to those of us who aspire to higher MPW averages.
