Fred - the race list is in Flavio's original post.  So, the alternative is that someone else with a post on the front page (which is the easiest to access!) could add a table in there.

Piwi 30 years??? Dang congrats to both of you.

I'm contemplating racing next month. I'll have to pull the trigger soon but one or both of a 10k trail race and a 5k turkey trot are waiting for me. My running fitness is abysmal but that's not the point so I just need to pull the trigger and sign up for both.

      1600 - 5:23 (2018), 5k - 19:33 (2018), 10k - 41:20 (2021), half - 1:38:57 (2018), Marathon - 3:37:17 (2018)

Go ahead and do it.  I find racing is fun just for the crowd and the event.  I don't need to be running at 100% or shooting for a PR to enjoy a race.  A well-organized race is enjoyable to participate in just for the excitement of being with a bunch of other runners.  My 2 cents anyway.

        5k 23:48.45 (3/22); 4M 31:26 (2/22); 5M 38:55 (11/23); 10k 49:24 (10/22);
        10M 1:29:33 (2/24); Half 1:48:32 (10/22); Marathon 4:29:58 (11/23)

Upcoming races: Clinton Country Run 15k, 4/27; Running is Back 10k, 5/12

Zeb/Fred I need to take on board both of your attitudes towards racing. For me it's always had to be a full effort at top fitness hence why I struggle to get myself to that point.

I started running again this week after only 9 days off. My pelvic soreness has gone so I'm not sure exactly what I had and feel a bit like a drama queen after stating I would be out for 8 weeks.

The runs I have done 5k,6k, and 8k haven't been great and I had a very sore hip flexor ( mostly right one) after the 8k. Anyway will monitor it and continue to try and build some basic fitness.

I don't have any posts on the front page (& I don't know how to make tables anyway, though I doubt it's difficult), but if someone else is willing to use their front-page post for that purpose, I can make a list of all the race results since July and send it to that person.  Or if we can somehow delete four or five posts from the front page, my first one should show up there, but I'd still need to learn how to make/post a table.

            Post-1987 PRs:  Half 1:30:14 (2019); 10K 39:35 (2019); 5K 19:12 (2017); Mile 5:37.3 (2020)

Fred - easiest is if somebody with a post on the front page copy/pastes the table (Mark/Steve/Keen/Zeb) .

Then let me know once done so I can edit the first post to point to the new table.

Alternatively you can start a new thread, it could be titled the people's republic of Walton, and then start posting there.

I know the feeling. But, I've kinda learned in the last little while that racing can just be fun even if you're not mega-prepared.  I didn't go full noise at the summer 10k series last summer, was just nice to have a good tempo effort.

A good week of training in the bag... decent workouts Wed (20 min build into 5 x 4 min hard / 1 min easy) and Sat (6 x 800, 5 x 400), and my best LR in a while on Sunday too.  It was perfect weather out there for a good LR too, exactly like they probably now won't get for Auckland Marathon next Sunday with cool temps, clear skies and no wind.  Feels like everything is starting to really click and I'm excited to race in a couple of weeks despite the fairly short build-up.  To top it all off, I managed to score bib #1 for Southern Lakes Half Marathon next May.

Fred, I can do you one better.  I’m hoping to run one of two halves in town on November 19, and now neither one has its course posted, just four weeks before race day.  I’m building up to whichever one I do by increasing the length of my long runs and my tempos at the same time, which may not be wise.  Was pleased to get to 13 miles on Thursday for the first time since April - for once I went a little farther than I had planned, helped by cool weather.  I cheered DW on this morning as she accompanied a friend on her first 5K.  DW kept the friend from quitting near the end, and the friend thanked her profusely afterwards (not sure how she felt about it at the time).

                          Sun - 6.8 miles in park including 3 @ 7:02/mile

                          Mon - 6.2 miles very slow treadmill (72 minutes) + 0:40 walk breaks/6 mins

Mark and James - nice weeks.

After one run in the four weeks post the marathon, last week was my first week back training.  I've got a speed and strength cycle until Xmas, so just four runs per week, three strength sessions (one being a lighter mobility based workout).  This weeks was a transition week with two strength sessions (one being mobility) and three runs.  One being Park Run which was very much a run by feel.  I did 21:39 (late stopping watch) with a slight negative split, which I was pretty pleased with, and I definitely didn't empty the tank as I held back a bit as I was expecting a fade.

I ran a 10k today on a fast course in good weather (52º/11C, cloudy, some wind, a bit humid).  My A goal was 48:28, which was the Riegel formula result based on the HM 2 weeks ago, but I knew this was a stretch since I'd run an HM only two weeks ago.  My B goal was sub-50.  My C goal was to beat my PR of 50:32.  I did well, for the first 4 miles, the 5th mile showed some definite slowing and the 6th mile was a struggle.  In the end, I posted 49:24, and am quite happy with that.

Back later with more and some shout-outs.
