All done Fred. You've got almost as many PB's this year as the rest of the thread combined!

A cord is an imperial measure [marky_mark alert!)  of how much wood is stacked. A full cord is 8' long x 4' high x 4' wide. To complicate things, a face cord is 8' long x 4' high x 16" wide. More manageable for firewood than 4' long logs.

Keen runs and throws his miles on the stack!

Fred - I enjoyed the RR, and liked how you set those three goals.
The shorts you wore for the race - are those the ones (allegedly) displayed in the photo you posted a while back in which you were (allegedly) the focus?
Also, props for not stopping your watch until after you were passed the second mat.

Longboat - You beat me to the cord description. I figure Mark will go apoplectic just looking at those measurements.

Keen - Thank you.  Yes, those are the shorts - the group demanded they not be retired, so I wore them in a situation where some sort of digital documentation would be likely.  As to watch stopping, that's something I've had to learn.  Early on in my racing "career" there are too many photos of my looking down at my wrist and stopping my watch as I cross the line.  I've learned to trust the race timing (and even if the timing is off, one or two seconds isn't going to really matter).

Longboat thank you I was wondering what cordwood was but was assuming it was a Chop Wood Carry Water reference.

Mark - thanks for taking over. Looks like I'll run

Nov 12 -Living History Farms (10k trail).

                Nov 24 - Turkey Trot (5k)

Longboat - it's obviously imperial with all those 4s and 8s involved.  Sometimes I wonder if most of the imperial system was invented by someone who'd had a finger or two amputated.

                  Zebano - races added.

Sometimes I wonder if our base 10 math is due to having 10 fingers. If we were a 12-fingered species, would we be using base 12?  Or base 8 if, as per Mark's scenario we all had 8 fingers?  I really don't know enough about math to know whether base 10 is just so much better, or if it's just what we're used to because our brains learned math that way.

Fred those shorts look fine just as these ones do that I wore in a brief 3 month jogging life back in 1990

Also, the front page thread now has all races (I hope!) thanks to James dutifully trawling through the thread to collate them all.  Any more races to add, let me know and I can add them.

Mark alas no the shorts are long gone. I remember buying the shoes from the Warehouse. They were called Turntech or some weird brand and had a plastic window into the midsole which I thought was cool

4 of us from my work did a relay of about 5k each. I think I ran about 22 mins which would have been a pb at the time. I used to write my training times down in a little notebook. I wish I had kept it. I think training was 3km runs for a few weeks

That's a shame. Lets be clear it's those long white legs that burn the eyes, not the glorious shorts! Have you considered flamingos for you next pair of shorts?
