2015 Holiday Running Streak (Read 463 times)

Joann Y

The last few years some kind folks on here have run a holiday running streak where you run at least 1 mile a day from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day (Nov 26-Jan 1). In addition, a goal mileage for December is set that is meant to beat any previous month in the year (2015).

I have personally found it to not only be a really good motivator (accountability!) but I have learned some things along the way (just because it's hard or hurts today doesn't mean it will be hard or hurt tomorrow, doubles can be fun, running every day is easier than not) and what a great way to start a new year.

    So, who's in this year?

This is the link to last year's thread.  2014 Holiday Running Streak

Oh, also, just because you miss a day for whatever reason doesn't mean you are off the hook. Jump right back on and keep working on that December mileage goal. I have assigned mileage but if you prefer a higher (or lower) goal, let me know.

Thanks for organizing  it this year, Joann!

I forgot it's also about beating the highest monthly mileage, it's a tall order for me, but I like the challenge. 172 miles / 278 km it is!

Yes they have. Put me down again.

Thank you for being the gate keeper.

I'm in! My highest this year was only 50 and my training program has me running 61. So with those "rest days" having an added mile to them 70 miles it is.

My number will need to be 280 miles, even though that would not be in the top 3 months for this year. I had a very big start mileage-wise in 2015, but the downslide has been severe. Even 280 will be a challenge, but I'm willing to give it a go.

Although I see now that LedL has 281 posted, so maybe make it 282.

            One day at a time

OK, I'm in.  It's been a tough year, so my December goal will be only 49 miles.  But it will get me off to a good start for 2016!  Smile

              LedLincoln

              not bad for mile 25

Thanks for doing this, Joann. Uh, jpdeaux, you probably don't have to worry about that lofty goal she set for me. We shall see...

                Ojo

I am in . . . again!     No big goal for me as I am already passed my goal for the year.  Put me down for 200 and we'll hope for the best.

                  Thank you, Joann!

My log claims I have a 35 day streak from 2010(187 miles).I have been wanting to put it to rest. The 140 for Dec would be the avg for 1500 miles in 52 weeks.
