Forums >Running 101>1st 10 mile run!!!
Started out this morning to run this weeks LSR of 6.5 miles, and (due to a miscalculation in my running route) I ran a little farther than planned. Long story short I got to around 7 miles and decided to go for my goal distance of 10 miles, and ended up running for 10.5 miles. Thought it would take me at least until the end of this summer to accomplish my goal of a 10 mile run! Asides from a little leg soreness and some chafing I feel awesome, and whats even more surprising to me is that I felt great while I was running, not at all what I expected!

congrats! Sounds like a wonderful run.
It is my goal this year to do a 10 mile run.
Awesome. Nice break-through. The fact that you seem to have enjoyed it makes it even better.

On the road again...
Congrats! Reminds me of my first double-digit run. It was also supposed to be shorter, and I felt so good I went on to 10. Enjoy the feeling!
I write. I read. I run. One time, I ran a lot on my 50th birthday.

Nice work! Something about hitting double digits makes it memorable. After my first, unlike you, I was pretty much done for the day, spent some quality time with the couch and some beer.

Not to burst your bubble, but with the metric system you would have hit double-digits a lot sooner.

congrats! Sounds like a wonderful run. It is my goal this year to do a 10 mile run.
@Jehu; I only use the metric system to weigh myself. I like to calculate my running distances in miles, makes my bubble look bigger to me
@wannaberunner; Yeah I think that I'm pretty much hooked!
