Use the top shelf anejo please. And a splash of grand marnier. I also get the opposite in my store... the person who comes in to buy cointreau and grand marnier, but then being low on funds, pairs it with cuervo. Gold, of course because gold is better. I try to get them to spend 5 more bucks for the Altos, but no no, can't do that. (for those who don't know... aside from cuervo being a 'mixto', which means that it isn't 100% agave, it is 51% agave and 49% neutral grain spirit - aka, watered down everclear.. cuervo gold is not fancy. It is cuervo and food coloring.)

Olmeca Altos is the bomb.
Home margaritas are made with that, Del Maguey Vida mezcal, and Pierre Fernand Dry Curaçao. All a great bang for the buck.

I want to believe that you through hike with this shit in your pack.
This summer I didn’t carry anything on the Colorado Trail, but I did bring along a floral London Dry gin (Bloom) on the Superior Hiking Trail. It was always mixed with orange crystal light and skanky beaver pond water. The Dirtbag Apertif.
Dude, I sell plenty of skanky beaver pond water.

Is Hornitos acceptable?

A bajillionty years ago I worked at a dive bar directly next to Frontera/Topolobompo (Rick Bayless’s famous first restaurants). The staff had tastings from their elaborate tequila list as part of their training and education. When they would come over to get liquored up between lunch and dinner service they would always sip Hornitos. I thought it was a big selling point.
I still buy and use Olmeca Altos whenever I can, tho.
You want Altos. Trust me.
I will pick up a bottle next time I'm out
And, here in the forum area called "Off the Beaten Path" (the place in the GSP for non-running chatter), my thread morphed into a thread about booze and apparently this is *all* we discuss, never running. Which is fine since we are off the beaten path.
We can also discuss non booze.
Mmmm.... toasty
I fondly think of us as the junk drawer thread of the internet. Anyway, what about FOOTBALL?!? Is anybody besides me excited it's happening? Who ya got, who's your team, etc?
My teams are the Broncos and the Bengals. We're off to a great start :-D
