Was anyone running the Memorial Marathon in Ok City? (Read 422 times)

We were there for the weekend to see Rush in concert (which, by the way, was freakin' AWESOME). In bricktown on Saturday we saw them painting arrows on the streets, so I figured there must be a race of some kind. We went to the bombing memorial Sunday morning, and I saw some of the runners. I would loved to have stayed to watch, but the rest of my group was non-runners, so I didn't think they would want to stand around watching. I guess there was a marathon and a relay?
yes, I ran. Also pfriese ran the full and wa5yom ran the half. Check out the race reports in the Masters group. Welcome to Oklahoma and OKC! Was the Rush concert at the Zoo amphitheater?

It was at Ford Center. I really love OKC! It's not that far for us to drive--3 1/2 hours. We might go back this summer for a long weekend so we will have more time to do stuff.
Yes, please come back this summer. The OKC Zoo, Kirkpatrick Planetarium, Botanical Gardens, Art Museum, Bricktown with the canal and now river trail and river taxi from Bricktown to Meridian corridor, Redhawks baseball at the beautiful bricktown ball park, amusement park Frontier City (also has live music) The Zoo amphitheater (great venue for outdoor live music) Red Earth Indian Festival....all great things to do in OKC. Also Indian casinos...the larger ones have live music. Find a race and couple that with a long weekend in OKC!

Evryday, the ballpark is at the top of my 13 year old ds's list. We briefly walked around in it when we were there--it really is beautiful. We went to Frontier City a few years ago and had a great time. We also love water parks, so White Water is a must too. I went there with my youth group...gosh..I guess 25 years ago or so. We really do love OKC. If I had to live outside of Texas (you know how we Texans are, I guess), OKC would be my first choice. And great job on the marathon!
thanks. Dave Mathews is playing at the Bricktown Ballpark...I'm guessing after a game. Don't know when that is, but would be a very nice evening getting two fer one!

                  Wow--that would be fun.
