The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

Always love reading these posts... great job anyone!
My own victory... Had my very first police escort. A.K.A. I won my first race ever! Small local 5k (200 ppl), but for me that's pretty darn good. (PR too!)

Woah, great job! Nice PR too.
2021 Goals: 50mpw 'cause there's nothing else to do
Ran at a comfortable pace without getting out of breath. The first time since I started running again after a five year hiatus.
Last Saturday, I finished my first Ironman. (Yes, I think I said "first" in a way that implies that I might do a 2nd).
It was an awesome day!
My finish time was 12:31:17.
(for those that care to read my race report, see link)
Life Goals:
#1: Do what I can do
#2: Enjoy life

Nice going! Keep it up!

Fantastic race report--and a fantastic accomplishment. Enjoy the elation--you've earned it.
"When a person trains once, nothing happens. When a person forces himself to do a thing a hundred or a thousand times, then he certainly has developed in more ways than physical. Is it raining? That doesn't matter. Am I tired? That doesn't matter, either. Then willpower will be no problem." Emil Zatopek
not bad for mile 25
Wow, congratulations! I'd say you did an awesome job, including on the marathon, considering the heat.
What a great thread! Congratulations to each of you on your accomplishments!
I ran a sub 4-hour marathon on Saturday. 3:56:44 - I beat my previous PR from February by 4 and 1/2 minutes! I feel like I WON the race!

WTG!
Sunday May 20th, I did my first half marathon.
And while my time might not be the fastest in the world 2:48:35 was the official chip time. I was happy with it. (I know I never could have done any of the the things I'm doing 59 lbs ago! -- I still need to lose about 40 more, so if I can get the weight down it can only help with the running.)
And I already know I want to run another one some day and maybe try to improve my time.
Great job tiday! Keep it up!
