Congrats RP and cal!!!  RP, that’s insane!

    RIP Milkman

I'm pretty sure something happened to Keen barring massive chip failure. I hope it's not a serious health issue.

ETA he just crossed the 40K. Looks like he either had to walk or had a stop at the medical tent. Sucks.

I think the tracker moves at the previous average speed and stops when the predicted time does not happen.

It's possible Keen had to walk early soon after 30k

CK is moving now. It does look like the same situation as his story from before.  Darn it, this sucks!

What's bizarre is that if he kept running at the end of any of his recent long runs he'd have finished in under 3h20.

He even ran a massive workout of 20 miles with 15 at MP.

I'll be curious to hear what happened there.

RP is the guy who says he didn't study then gets an A+.

CK could have had an injury.  Be interested to hear what happened between 30 and 40km.  He's about to finish now by the looks of it.

Same. A fade to 3:05 or something could have been "not my day" or maybe just the marathon distance isn't his strongest distance. This is something completely different. That MP workout he did was around 7:00 pace if I recall correctly but he wasn't even tired, indicating sub 3:00 was definitely there.

Either way, we can dissect his race later. For now, I hope he is okay.

Outstanding stuff RP, honestly dude you are way better than you realise.

Well done to Cal as well.  Hope all is OK with Keen.

                    RIP Milkman

I just looked at RP's Strava. I have used the word insane one too many times, but I will say it again: that pacing he put up was INSANE. I haven't seen a race that well executed in a long time, especially for a guy who had no idea what pace he was going to run with little practice. A metronome out there.

Looking at Keen's Strava, something happened around 34km.  There was no gradual fade, the pace was consistent around the target then suddenly dropped which could mean injury.  I know Keen will be hurting, and I'm feeling it too.  No-one deserves results as much as he does.  Hope the damage isn't too bad and you will fight another day.

RP - That race on Strava is a work of art.

                          Great work, CIM runners!
I had a good day. Finished at 3:22:33, missing a PR by 17 seconds. A pee stop cost me. I took everyone’s advice and started slow. Maybe too much; I ended up with something like a 5 minute negative split. But I was passing people like crazy in the final 10k, and it was a blast.

Steve I’m impressed myself. The CIM data makes it uglier than Strava. I actually pulled off a negative split!

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

Wow Dave, that's a crazy negative split! I guess if you knew you were in PR shape, even with a pee stop, you may have started a bit more aggressively. However, sounds like you had a blast. That's a great time - you should post here more often
