He beat the field in the BIG XII championship race by 37 seconds.  Considering he was hoping for less than 22:40 over the 8k course (a pedestrian 4:34 pace), he ran a 22:16 (4:29 pace).  My mind is still trying to comprehend the race...55 sec first 400; 2:02-2:04 first 800; 2:40 first 1k, 14:02 first 5k....WOWZA!  Now he wants to go sub-28 at Terra Haute.  That will better Chelenga's record by 40 seconds.

On another note, IA State women captured their 3rd straight BIG XII championship and the men came in second behind OK State.  Go Cyclones!  Big grin

Wow. The boy and I were toying with the idea of heading to terre haute to watch and then go to nashville to run monkey. Skipping the beer mile. This is sounding better now.
