With CR possibly being busy taking care of more important things, I'll try and maintain this table, so as to keep us accountable. Using only quantifiable top 3 goals. If CR DB wants to maintain this, I'll close out the thread so there would be only one of these .
MTA Not sure why I thought CR started the goal thread, substitute DB for CR above

Actually, finishing at Umstead is my first goal. Failed.
24 The hard Way -- 100 miles.
Monkey, if unlucky enough to get in, <4:00 is second goal. Finish before beer runs out.
May have to use 6:00am start to make that happen.
Thanks!

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Here are my top 3:
1) >3300 miles for the year (that would be 10% more than any other previous year)
2) PR at any distance longer than 5K and shorter than the marathon
3) Sub 2:50 Marathon
I'm thinking that those are probably in order of importance. For me to get to sub 2:50 I have to be able run a 10K/10mile/HM faster than I can now and to do that I'll need better general fitness via stringing together steady, higher volume weeks/months.
Hold the Mayo
All right, the anal-retentive quality engineer in my head is screaming at me to get more specific and measureable than just PR. (Friggin idiot). BUT, he wants to see numbers, so:
First: Consistency - Run daily. To be realistic but make it tough, I'm aiming at 95%. So - run at least 347 days out of 365.
Second: Miles > 1007.3 -- call it "PR mileage" if you want - my highest yearly total so far was 1007.2, gotta beat that.
Third: is the PR races goal - I'm targeting marathon distance chiefly (4:28:01 PR), and expect the others will fall along the way - I plan to race several 5Ks (22:35 PR) and a few 1/2s (1:50:36 PR) so those will likely fall. If other races come along at different distances I plan to let the marathon training take care of those.
Summary:
Goal 1: Run on 347+ days
Goal 2: Miles > 1007.3
Goal 3: PRs @ M, 1/2, 5K

You can add me, but I am not putting any numbers down...
1 - Lose weight.
2 - Be diligent with core work.
3 - Run a respectable race time (not sure what that is yet)
Thanks.
Not at it at all.
I've been thinking about this and guess that I will finally jump in.
Goal 1: Marathon <2:37
Goal 2: 5k < 16
Goal 3: HM PR (<1:16:50)
For goal 1, I'd like to have all my PR's with an average per mile pace <6. The marathon is the only one at this point. If I nail it well this winter working towards goal 1, goals 2 and 3 will fall right in place. Goal 3 is the softest one out there I know I can get that.
Goal 1: 2,000 miles
Goal 2: Sub 4 hour marathon
Goal 3: Sub 20:30 5K

Goal 3 - A sub 3:45 marathon (that is not Monkey). Nope, not even going to think about it
