DH wants this for his birthday cake. Anyone have a favorite recipe? I think I can get bottled key lime juice, dunno if I can find fresh.

Can't say that I have EVER made a key lime pie, just cuz it's not a favorite of mine.... The bottled key lime juice will work fine. Finding Fresh Key Limes to juice yourself will be daunting to say the least.... Good Luck! you are a phenomenal cook and I am sure it will turn out GREAT. Smile

I think I will need a few real limes for zesting. Looks like the recipes all use eggyolks. Something finally to do with the yolks I throw away every morning.

I've made key lime pie a few times--I think I just used the Joy of Cooking recipe. I used regular limes, though, so it was extra tart, but I like it that way.
