    Chasing the bus

Actually, I kind of disagree, I mean, its just not that simple. Bad runs happen. A string of bad runs, though, could be the body trying to tell you something. In the end, though, slowing down, letting go of expectations, resetting goals, and running if you can, that seems to be what the message at the end is saying, that's what worked for me. I called it base building, because that's how it was prescribed. your milage may vary...

We're all different.  Whatever it takes to get you out there is fine by me.

I run for my own reasons. I don't think they would motivate anyone else, but they work for me.

I have my doubts that the older runners need a blog from a recent C25K graduate to find motivation to get out the door.  Just a guess.

              Short term goal: 17:59 5K

              Mid term goal:  2:54:59 marathon

Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life.  (I started running at age 45).

              Dad on the run.

LTH - hah probably not, I just didn't want you highly trained, well oiled, never ever have a bad day runners to feel left out.

LTH does sometimes say stuff I'm thinking but don't dare say.

Heal strike, for instance.  It bugs the shit out of me, but I never say anything about it like he just did at the old place.   I should be more direct  in my own responses, but I accidentally say enough stuff that pisses people off.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.
