Penguin Power!

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

    Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

    Penguin Power!

      Morning Pens!

I'm not sure what I'm doing running wise today.  I'm still sick but not dying.  Probably something around 3 miles would be a good balance between getting out there but not over exerting myself.  The 15k on Saturday was definitely too much for how sick I am.

Congrats on your performance yesterday PAD!

        Singer who runs a smidge

Morning, Penguins!!  I think I am finally on the mend, although I am a long way from healthy, yet.  Chorus coaching on Saturday was beyond exhausting, but good.  And yesterday was the first Sunday in a while that I didn't have anything going on besides church, laundry, bread baking, and napping, so that was also nice.  Just three days to work this week, and then winter break!!

sapf -- hope you feel better, and the easy run gets the yuckies out!!

Docket -- good luck with your 6-8!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

RD 1 for me today. Waddling down the hallways in true penguin fashion.

PAD - congratulations on finishing your marathon.  I hope the soreness fades quickly.

HopesMom - I'm glad you're feeling better at last.  Enjoy the short week.

Jill - I hope you were able to get a run in today.  I'm glad you're feeling a bit better too.

D - enjoy your six.  Did you end up replacing the Pilates with something else, or are you just enjoying the break?

I ran my nearby hilly neighborhood for the first time in a while.  It's a fun route.  The last mile was in a light sprinkle but at least I beat the real rain.  My new shoes gave me a blood blister under the callus on my LR Sunday.  It decided to act up midway so I cut the run a bit short - 6 miles.

Ginny, since I got sick for 10 days (in bed, fever, etc.) I didn't do anything for those 10 days and now she is back on Thursday, so I ended up doing nothing.

Congrats, PAD!  You deserve to waddle today.

Four miles today, and like Ginny I finished up just as the rain started to fall.

                  Return To Racing

Inaugural run for new Adrenalines on the indoor track.  Just 3 tired miles.  Our warm up walk kept pace with another runner.  This is our slow track.
