Tuesday Penguins, back at it!! (Read 8 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

I took yesterday off because I had some days to spend and needed a little sanity.  It was a lovely day, with sleeping in, some laundry, some TV, and some homemade shortbread.  Woo-hoo!!

So now of course I have a boatload of emails to get through.  Because part of my sanity check yesterday was ignoring the rest of the world, to see if it could get along without me.  I think the answer is "yes and no ..."

They did get my AC fixed on Friday, so it's MUCH better in the lab today.

Afternoon!  I didn't run yesterday as the combination of PT and the TM at the gym (since mine died) wrecked my calves.  Got a massage yesterday but it feels like I didn't.  I think I need one of those massages so deep I pass out from the pain.  Pilates and 5 miles (or whatever I can manage) to see how the calves feel.  Sitting down at the office makes it worse.

        HopesMom, Yay for AC!

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

D - I hope your calves heal quickly. Do you do Epsom salt baths? They help me when muscles are tight.

HM - good luck catching up.

I don't have a bath tub anymore (my husband tricked me, ha).  I loved Epsom salt baths but unless they are in the foot, it will be hard to bathe now.

Wow, no TM and no bathtub?  That's terrible!!  I love love bubble baths, and epsom salts usually go in there too.

I went out with the Beer Runners this evening. I actually found someone to run with, so my pace stayed much slower and the run stayed easy. I needed a good run.
