GUILTY is good news!
Running for TJ because he can't.
Currently at 15 verdicts, all guilty.
Glad to hear!

But didn't the defense admit that he did it? I don't think this is much of a surprise, the life sentence vs death penalty was the only piece the defense was after.

Exactly.
Indeed, but you never know with a jury.
So when will it be decided whether it's life in prison or death penalty? The jury decides that as well?
PRs: Boston Marathon, 3:27, April 15th 2013
Cornwall Half-Marathon, 1:35, April 27th 2013
18 marathons, 18 BQs since 2010
There is another phase of the trial now.
Then the Jury decides.

Guilty is good. Hopefully he gets the death penalty, or gets beaten to death while waiting for the chair, either way is fine by me.

Penalty phase starts Monday. No one has been sentenced to death here during my lifetime so it's hard to predict. I'm hoping life in prison as hopefully it results in more suffering than a quick death. I'm also hoping there is a decision before the race.

I dunno...he is still young....if he got life without any parole possible, wouldn't that be even more hell for him, starting prison at this age? And make sure doctors continue to keep him healthy so he lives a long long long time in a cage...I think that would probably drive him slowly insane over that amount of years...

Yeah, I happen to agree that life in a Boston prison would be a lot more hellish than a death penalty sentence.
I doubt it will be a death sentence. There is too much risk that it would trigger more beheadings of foreigners by groups like ISIS. It would not be wise...
