Barking Mad To Run
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here.
Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."
It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Which is what I am trying to get more like, as I will do my run today followed by my weight training circuit. Unfortunately, my problem is that I like to eat just as much as I like to exercise, so I pretty much just stay in my current status, an old running dog with a bit too much belly.
Flippin' 35 degrees this morning in San Antonio! So I will run after work today. It will be a very pleasant 63 degrees with sunshine and low dew point and humidity, nice. Tomorrow will be a little chilly too, but then on Saturday the 'low' will be 63 and the high will be in the 70s. And Sunday, a high of 80! Crazy Mother Nature apparently really likes to mess with Texas, lol. Sunday is the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon. Figures she'd bring the heat back THAT day!
60 Day DL

Scotty - Photoshop those muscles. Problem solved.
Jerry - Do you have snow over there?
Dave - I'm not ready for this cold yet either. Had to do intervals inside because of leaves, snow and ice. Bad combo.
AFM- On the road again. 5 mile tempo yesterday with 53 pushups.

Happy Anniversary Jerry & Mrs. Jerry!
Scotty -- better an old dog with a little belly than a mean, grumpy, hungry dog.
Dave, enjoy the recovery miles.
DR -- our Penguin who kicks ass in court and in kickboxing class...
RD for me. I'll have to do laundry tonight so that I have my entire running wardrobe to choose from for the race on Saturday. I might wear the "O" shorts that I picked up on one of our trips to Oregon. Maybe that will help me channel some energy from the awesome Oregon Duck runners?

I want to be thewy, but I'm like you, Scotty--a little around the middle. It's a genetic thing, I swear! Enjoy your nice cool run.
Jerry, congrats! That's a long time!
Enjoy your coffee, D!
Damaris, hope the verdict goes your way.
Awood, amazing. 53?!
Phillie, I should do some laundry. Will I, though?
PAD, hope it was a nice 4.
Oh, hi Bin! Glad you're feeling so good. That's a super strong run!

Miles to go
Morning! Hoping that my meeting gets out in time for me to go to the social run tonight!
Scotty- The important thing is that you're getting out there. You're not letting arthritis or anything else send you to the couch. After my travel experience last week I can appreciate that even more. 80 degrees for the race on Sunday is crazy! Maybe one of the bands will play this.
Jerry- I'm pretty unthewy too. Happy anniversary!
D2- Have a good run!
D- Kick some ass at the trial.
Margo- Yes! Track Town USA will definitely make you speedy!
PAD- Hah! Glad you had a nice run.
Bin- Nice run! I loved that birthday cake a few days ago, BTW!
obie- Enjoy the RD!Jack- You are going to make it!
