KCRuns

    Good morning!

    KCRuns

6 miles.  I did yesterday's workout today with 8x 400/200 plus 3x 200/200. It was supposed to be 16x 400/200s, but I seriously underestimated how much time that would take and had to cut it short.

The 400s were supposed to be at something like 5k plus 10 seconds pace.  I messed up the first one.  Towards the end my watch beeped and I thought it was the end so I slowed to a walk to catch my breath, but it was just telling me my pace, which I still didn't realize until it beeped again for the recovery.  Oh well.  5 of the 8 were in the right range and the other two were close enough and were at least at the right effort.  I did great on the 200s.

Even though I cut it short to get home for work, I still feel like it was pretty good workout.  And it was much cooler today and lower humidity, so overall a nice morning for an outside run.

Rest, first day back to work... and away from my refrigerator 😀.

Morning! It's my Friday off but I just got back from the dentist. My mouth is still numb, waaahh.

I have a 10K time trial (to do the Hoka challenge) later.

              4 miles.

I probably haven't been inside a bank in >10 years except once to get the cashier's check to buy my house.

The best part of being back to work and wearing a mask is you can stick out your tongue at people and they don’t even know it 😀

The banks here are either drive throughs or BOA that has unmanned "banks" that you go in and take money out via ATM. But I'm like people use cash?

Best part was that I got donuts after the dentist and was talking all crooked and no one noticed because of the mask.  Here are the beauties. The chocolate yuckiness is for hubby. Can't eat any yet because I'm nauseous and numb still. FFS.

In the 5 years I’ve lived here, I think I’ve physically gone inside a bank twice - once to open my account, once to get a cashier’s check to buy my house. I do still keep cash on hand although don’t use it much, especially in recent months - I hadn’t gotten new cash in IDK how long. But it came in handy a few days ago, when I went to Lowe’s and waited in line at the checkout, only to find their credit card machines were down. I paid with $40 in cash, I would’ve been pissed if I had to leave empty-handed.

The only reason I go into the bank is for cashing US savings bonds. Last time I withdrew cash from an ATM was the last weekend in January. We were going to a casino, so I took out gambling $$$. And did no gambling. Then I got sick for a month & covid happened, so I still have the cash. I probably had cash from the previous trip to Atlantic City at Christmas, which also was cut short when FIL died. I quit carrying my purse into stores with covid, I probably should bring some cash in case the credit card machines go down.

Although it's been a couple years since I retired from B&N, the trend was more cash purchases and less credit and debit cards.

I really don't use cash for anything and haven't for years and many I know are like me but I don't know the nationwide trends.
