I already have three other people to run it with. And my RP is going to do the 8k (she's doing Lehigh Valley Half the next weekend). But I'm still freaking out.
You will do great, your new shoes will be broken in by then too!
And you are a "Grown Ass Woman, handling my shit quite nicely thank you very much!"

LOL, this is true.
I still remember my first. I was totally unprepared (didn't know it though) but I went in with the attitude of If I do better than 2:30 I'll be happy. I came in with 2:18. I had a blast with all the excitement. The crowds cheering us on as we went by kept me going even when my knees were saying "Umm...You can stop anytime NOW!" LOL!
Team TJ
You'll do great! Way to step out there and set a high goal. I need to take the same step soon.
Running for TJ because he can't.
That^^^^
And on race day you will know why it was all worth it!
Are we there, yet?
You've got plenty of company here with a number of us wondering what we've done, whether it be our first HM, our first marathon, our first ultra, or even our first 5K. You should be fine as long as you keep your goals sensible and in line with your training.
