Week 37 Penguins are aware of iguanas. (09/11-09/17) (Read 6 times)

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Today is National Iguana Awareness Day.  So look around you, and if you see any iguanas, be aware of them.  I'm pretty sure there are none in my home office, but you never know!

I had a reasonably good week -- I did indeed enjoy my video game-playing Labor Day.  On Friday we got the official notification that we won the contract we'd worked so hard to write to back in May, I think it was.  So that's awesome!  I had a massage scheduled for today, but it got rescheduled for next weekend, so today will be a pretty chill day as well.  Laundry, and I think maybe I'll make some cookies.  With our evening gym workout, I haven't had a lot of time to bake lately, and I'm missing it, as well as missing eating the fruits of my labor!  But the gym workout is probably a good trade-off, and we're still enjoying it and being quite consistent.  Our weather is inching toward fall -- we've had nights in the upper 50's, which means open windows, baby!  The days, of course, are still in the upper 80's or low 90's.  Well, it'll get there.

Ok, my first laundry load just finished, so I need to go hang it out on the line.  Later, Penguins!!

HM - no iguanas here, I hope. Are you losing weight with less baking? I would have a hard time with fresh baked good around all the time.

I'm planning on running 7-8 later. It will probably be on the TM as heat and humidity are returning for the next several days. I woke up with everything hurting (knee, hips, etc.) so that is probably just as well since I may need to shorten the run.

I had iguanas in Miami but not here, fortunately.

I have 8 with some tempo miles if my back can handle them. The back has done OK for the last 4 days.

Hopes, those are nice temps. We are back to hot.

Ginny, for us too. Enjoy the TM as I will as well.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

That's a nice thought, but I NEVER lose weight!
