Tuesdailies runnin' away with it (Read 51 times)

FreeSoul, push-ups are good.  Low tech and old school, but effective!  Combine with sit-ups and squats, and you have most of my workout Smile

Soccer game last night.  We had no subs, so I played the whole game and it went well.  Not the losing part of it, but the running part of it.  Couple months ago and I wouldn't have been able to do that.  But running 3 or 4 miles a few times a week really helps build my endurance so I'm not quit so doubled over winded!

Morning!  Yesterday I didn't get home until late, so it became a URD, and today is a SRD because we're going to see Nebraska after work, but I think I can still get my miles in starting tomorrow.

My dog Zoe is doing well.  The MRI showed that she has some rare form of the back issue and that the surgery they were thinking about doing wouldn't work.  There is a new surgery that even the specialist has never done on a live dog.  But for now, we went with a spinal steroid injection and some new pain meds.  We'll go back in 3 weeks to talk about whether we want to go with the surgery or not at that point.

      Good luck!

John, good luck with that! I did the challenge twice. The first time I stopped after completing week 5. I could do 86 pushups in a row. 86 seemed good enough for little me, so I lost motivation at that point. The second time I was a little lazier and I stopped at week 4 (which I actually repeated twice) but I had worked my way up to 75 pushups in a row. It's a very good challenge. All this talk of pushups is making me feel guilty that I stopped. I just did 50 of them 5 minutes ago and also 50 sit-ups. I'll do another set of both tonight. Thanks for the motivation, guys!

Lol, push ups are my go to workout when I don't feel like doing anything else. I am up to 40 reps a set as of today and hopefully I can do 5 sets to, I've got 2 sets of 40 down and one set of 20 thanks to Dorian deciding at rep 13 he was going to get up on top of me............ 24-25 extra lbs is a lot when doing push ups lol.

I have never done pushups with any regularity to know just how many I could really do.  I have been able to drop and do 25 at any time for a billion years and I think that has seemed to be the start and end point with that particular exercise.

I was an avid weight lifter for about 10 years and at my peak could push 225 lbs for reps, which probably translates to a lot of push ups.  lol

As for today, I got in 6 miles that began and ended in complete darkness.  That was the first time for that and it was definitely different, as despite wearing bright ass orange with an illuminated watch, I still got some peculiar looks.

I will need to add some other trinkets that more easily identify me as a runner and not the other R word as to avoid any accidents.  lol

The run itself was nice except all the water from yesterday was ice and I wore the wrong gloves so my paws were a bit cold but otherwise, I cannot complain.

I do them a lot.  my streak group had me doing a lot and I went up to 200.  Now I am biding time and feeling maybe I should keep at it until the surgery and see how many I could do?  That 100 pushup challenge looks nice.

                        Uffda

I tried the 100 pushup challenge a couple of years ago but I didn't complete it. To be quite honest, I'm pretty weak in my upper body. I just started doing pushups regularly a week or so ago. Right now I'm just doing 2x10 once or twice a day. I want to get up to 3x8 or so and just keep it at 3 sets. Hopefully with some dedication I can try the pushup challenge and get through it confidently.

                          From the Internet.

Hi dailies! Back for personals in a bit. 3 easy miles for me this morning, warm enough for shorts and dark enough to wear my reflective vest. The novelty of running in the dark hasn't worn off for me yet, haha.

DD's first kindergarten visit/interview was this morning! She knocked it out of the park (well, at 5 it's a very small park, but still) - they loved her and she had a great time Smile Now if only we could get enough financial aid to actually send her there!

Just a little nugget regarding the 100 pushup challenge.  They personalize it based on how many you can do before starting the program and go from there.  It's pretty neat.

                              Carry on with the dailes...Smile

I can't seem to stick with it....... I used to be really good at having a strength training regime........ that all went out the window after Dorian was born and now the only thing that I have a good habit with is running.
