Early Friday Penguins (Read 7 times)

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

I gave up on sleep at 4:30 this morning.  No reason for insomnia, except that I was hungry.  This marathon cycle has me absolutely ravenous.  I'm not sure why, except that I'm logging on myfitnesspal and so probably eating less than I would without the constant awareness of how much I'm eating. I wanted to lose the 8 pounds that I gained last summer before I started race training, and about the time I went into maintenance, I ramped up the miles so I'm still losing even though I don't want to. I know that will reverse when I start tapering, but for now, I eat like a starving rat.

Today is supposed to be a rest day, but we'll probably take advantage of the springlike weather to go for a hike.  It's supposed to cool down on Sunday, which will be much better for my long run.

Morning.  I have PT and 4 miles tonight.

Ginny, I had that happened to me on Tuesday.  At least tonight you can sleep some more.

Good morning, early Penguins!!  I had a good time at chorus rehearsal last night -- we worked hard, sang well, and avoided the post-show slumps, which we really can't afford since contest is now about a month away.  Now it's Friday, and I'm so excited for Friday!  I have quartet coaching tomorrow, so another kinda busy weekend, but it's all good.  It's still a weekend!!

Ginny -- sorry about the starving rat syndrome!  Time to snack?

Docket -- woo-hoo for your PT and 4 miles!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.
