Thursday Penguins are Charged up! (Read 15 times)

PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!

Group run tonight. a tempo run is on the agenda I think.

      Penguin Power!

Today we are finally checking into a hotel with a gym so I'll do some distance on the treadmill - probably at least 3 miles - maybe up to 6 depending on how I'm feeling and if the gym is nice.

        Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

        Singer who runs a smidge

Morning, Penguins!!  A long day today and an early morning tomorrow.  I have chorus rehearsal tonight, so I'll get home around 10:30 or so.  Then I have to pack for this conference, and we need to leave the house around 4:30 AM to catch the plane.  Somehow I have the sneaky suspicion I will sleep on the flight!  And luckily it's not a long flight -- Richmond to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale.  Looking forward to warmth!!

PAD -- good luck on the "group ruin" tonight!!

Jill -- hope your vacay is being most awesome!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

          Jack K.

            Hi Pens.

No running for me today but the core work continues.  8 mile tempo run tomorrow.

Zel: That Pfitz HM plan is not easy.  This is the first time I have tired legs following a HM plan. It didn't help that I was sick all last week, but you know what I mean.

PAD -- good luck on the "group ruin" tonight!!

It's been the ruin of many a poor boy!

              Brilliant

                good morning Penguins!

Jill, hope you are having a fantastic trip!

Jack, are you doing lots of speedwork on the HM plan? That'll tire you out for sure.

6 rainy miles done for me today.  It's only the second time I've worn my rain jacket.  I almost didn't run, except that yesterday I was bored on an airplane and read a book on goal-setting.  So I jotted down some random goals on the back of my boarding pass.  This morning I felt like I couldn't ditch my first day of goals just for a little rain!

Afternoon!  I did 10 on the TM this morning.  Pilates and more miles with hubby later.

Hope, sorry about the long day.  Hope you get some rest.

                    Jack, enjoy the core workout.

This plan is big on tempo runs and running faster than goal pace. It's strange but I don't think there are any interval workouts. The tempo runs are tough and those (and higher mileage than my last plan) are to blame for my fatigue. Heck, if I can PR in my next HM, I won't care. Smile
