Which is apparently what Mother Nature did.
The numbers are completely stupid for a date so early in November; 14 degrees with a wind chill of -3. WTF? FFS. GTFOH!
Oh well, the sooner I get this over with the better...
Thanks, everyone, for your concern yesterday. Especially Scotty who took the time to inform me so well. I have made an appointment with my family doctor and he will be able to see me at the end of this month. Until then, I will monitor any feeling of dizziness I have. I was not feeling 100% well yesterday, but I did not have any accident like what happened Sunday evening. I will also have my blood checked for any deficiency. What bugs me a little is that every time I go see a doctor, I need to be replaced at work and it costs me $200 for the day (I can't have my replacement come for a few hours only. It's the whole day or nothing). Most often I get nothing concrete out of my visits with medical specialists, so I'm just out $200...grrr.... Anyway, I'm not sick often, thankfully.
5 easy miles tonight.
Snow on the ground here. It's starting to smell like Christmas! Have a great day!

Barking Mad To Run
Damaris, re: thread yesterday. I will send you my weather if you send me yours. I much prefer 87 degrees to 37 degrees! This morning, though, it was a bit warmer than yesterday. 27 degrees yesterday morning, 36 degrees this morning for my drive-time. We are supposed to go to 52 degrees today and nice and sunny, so pleasant for my planned 3 - 4 miles after work. Tomorrow we head back into the upper 60s! Crazy Texas weather! Of course, now that the weather here IS warming up a bit, naturally the warmup comes when it's just about time for me and Gail to be heading to Washington State where there is already snow on the ground, as my MIL informed me....great. Guess the house-sitter will get to enjoy the warmer stuff while we're gone.
That is flippin' cold, LRB! See, I just don't get why people want to live in that kind of stuff.
Lily, what if it turns out you when you go that you do have a condition that gets caught early because you did get checked? That would be worth $200, right? Hope everything comes out okay for you!

'Morning. I had a pretty tired and sluggish run this morning. 4 miles at 8:56 pace. I can't say I am particularly thrilled about that.
<3
Baboon, if you don't have that 4 miler you can barely finish, your taper isn't working.
I decided last night not to get up early to run this morning because the forecast showed 21mph wind and single digit temps. Feels like -10 or something stupid like that. So probably a rest day. Unless I feel like running tonight.

It was 12 degrees out on our run this morning, not too much snow on the trails but during mile 2 there were a lot of low- hanging branches/trees due to the weight of the snow, slowed me down a lot. Rocky and I got 5 miles in, and he had a blast as usual.
I think I might take our 8 miler tomorrow morning to the roads though...

Morning! I laughed at my alarm clock and went back to sleep this morning, will run 5 or 6 midday. It will actually be colder then but I will already be warmed up and ready to go.
I'm not sure whether I want to keep pushing for 6 running days a week, or back off to the 5 that I had success with over the summer/early fall but try to keep up the same mileage. Monday I was TIRED and glad to have the day off, tight calves and hams and slightly tender shins, but I'm back to feeling good today. I feel like spreading mileage out over 6 days will eventually make mileage increases easier, but if it proves to be too much for me and I get hurt it will defeat the whole purpose of running so often in the first place. OTOH, since I'm not racing or doing any speedwork save for a couple strides here and there (and I will likely drop even those in favor of trying low HR training for the next few months), one would think I'd be able to recognize injury and back off before it becomes serious. First world running problems!

7 miles done, the first 4 miles were run directly into 20 MPH winds which was not funny!
Afterwards, it was pretty standard as cold weather running goes.
I ran by a few school crossing guards one of which said, "You're crazy dude". I said, "Really? You're the one standing still". lol

Lol, I couldn't imagine standing still out in this cold weather. Those people are crazy.
LOL! In all fairness, they get paid to stand still, while we go out in this shit for funsies
But I don't like it.

Six miles at five am. AS much as I'd like to go back to bed, I've got to go to work now. That sucks. What sucks even more is that I'm gunna do it again tomorrow.

Hiya Dailies.
3x1 mile at threshold pace today. I will probably do the miles on the track but will warm up and cool down on the roads. Yesterday during my run, I got a nice complement from a high school soccer player. I was doing easy miles on the track and the soccer team was practicing on the field. When I did my strides I was running hard by the bench and overheard a kid say to another, "Man, that old dude has good dang form!" That made me laugh but believe me, it made my day.
Baboon: Shake it off, you'll be fine.
FS: I cannot even imagine what 12 degrees feels like. This morning it was 55 and I had to put on a long sleeved top. I'm not complaining, I prefer cooler temps, but 12?! No thank you.
Lily: I missed it yesterday but I hope all is well with you.
Have a good day, everyone.
Lol Jack, it was flippin freezing, my face and butt were numb lol.
