Hi,
It has dawned on me that my inability to run at 10k pace without looking at my stupid watch is because I don't have a reference point for medium effort. I have either been running fast or slow, but nothing in between. So it looks like some marathon paced runs are in order. Great. 👎
I'm heading to work to jog there.
What's up?

Phew, I'm tired from this weekend's 8 milers, Monday's 6 and yesterday's 5. I need a RD.
Throat is better than it was yesterday morning, and I don't have the sniffles. Knock on wood.

Good morning!
I managed 8.2 in the dark. My legs can tell the rolling 7-day total is rising, but I'm feeling pretty good.
Have a great day folks!

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

I ran 7 and some change. It was 55 degrees and felt great.
During mile 4, the sun was in the weirdest position in the sky. It is usually well left of where it was, really weird. Must have something to do with fall, which is TOMORROW.

Why don't you just check your stupid watch?
There you go making sense again. It's really annoying when you do that.
Great question. I suppose I've got so used to not looking at it, that I don't. But in the case of yesterday's workout (and the same one on 8.24), it was an utter failure. So in that regard, it's fucking stupid.
It cost enough money, you're allowed to look at it
It's like insurance -- you pay for it, but hope you don't need to use it. (Yes, I am being facetious.)
It's appropriate.
Especially given that I bought it directly from Garmin, and not Amazon. Ouch.
